The cabin itself sits on 35 acres of private forested land and offers the rare combination of both the hint of salty sea air and the fresh scent of pine, spruce, ash and maple forest. Wildlife such as deer have been known to stroll past the view from the covered deck, their footsteps silent in the thick moss.
The cabin is situated 400m from Lake Midway Provincial Park, a spring-fed freshwater lake with swimming, picnic and bathroom facilities. Great for fishing and kayaking if you bring your own gear. There are abundant hiking trails in the area that will take you to fantastic views of St. Mary's Bay or the Bay of Fundy, depending on which side of the Digby Neck you choose to explore for the day. Trout Cove Fishing Pier and Beach, Mount Shubel and Lake Brook Falls would all make for a lovely afternoon or morning stroll of exploring.
Sandy Cove Beach is a five-minute drive or 20-minute cycle ride away and is one of the few Sandy beaches on the Bay of Fundy. It is a lovely spot to watch the sunset, go sea glass hunting or beachcombing, and you may (if very lucky) even spot a whale of other sea life frolicking past. There is a corner store with fuel about a 5-minute drive down the road from the cabin for grabbing any forgotten or urgent essentials. A fifteen-minute drive from the cabin down Digby Neck is Petit Passage Whale Watching Tours departure pier and some of the best whale-watching opportunities in the world. The cafe there also has excellent local dishes and homemade pies.
The cabin is approximately 20 minutes from the charming harbour town of Digby, where the ferry connects to St. John, New Brunswick. Digby has all the amenities you might need for groceries, refreshments, beach and fishing gear, fantastic seafood restaurants, souvenir shopping and more. The cabin is set back from the road and provides cozy quiet and the peace you have been looking for.

There is ample parking on site as the cabin sits on 35 acres of private land. Approximately 2 acres have been cleared, and there is more than sufficient parking available right beside the cabin on the driveway. Having a car is highly recommended to get to the cabin and to get yourself around easily. There is no public transit in the area. This location will allow you to really "get away from it all" as a result.
