I booked through Airbnb because it was a good deal. when I went to hotel, the receptionist could not find any sign of a reservation, she stated they did not use Airbnb as a third party booking site. she ran a report to check everything regardless while I waited for a response from host. I decided to book a room directly with hotel (receptionist was extremely helpful and went above and beyond for me). I submitted a refund request and Airbnb service got involved, luckily I was able to get the refund but I just don't understand why it was an issue in the first place. if booking through Airbnb, I'd call the intended hotel and inquire about their accepted third party booking sites before reserving. I know I will check the next time I consider doing this again.

I will never use this host again. Charged for a room we did not get. Not what was advertised. Host was completely unresponsive.
