A 3 bedroom countryside cottage situated in Malhão, 9km outside of Tavira town and close to the traditional village of St Estevão village. Hugged by mature gardens and trees, the villa offers a tranquil location with a selection of terraces and dining spots and a sparkling swimming pool for all the family to enjoy. Car essential when renting this property to reach shops and beaches, although the local restaurant is a must try! The perfect location for those seeking peace and quality family time Turn into the entrance with a parking area directly in front of the property and enter your peaceful haven at the cute cottage of Casa Margarida COTTAGE This rustic cottage welcomes you with an array of nature, trees and shrubs. The entrance opens immediately into open plan living space of lounge/diner , then onto into the traditional kitchen with its country style cupboards and marble surfaces. Tucked away at the back of the house are 3 bedrooms including 1 master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and 2 twin rooms with single beds sharing a bathroom between. A passageway from the bedrooms leads towards the poolside terraces, with easy access to an al fresco dining patio. AIR CONDITIONING - Please note there the cottage has air conditioning in the main living space, but not in individual bedrooms. Additional fans are supplied. And for the winter, an open log fire is working and available for use. Wifi and Internet package with 180+ channels is installed. OUSTIDE SPACE Aside from the cosy interior, the outside living areas offer something for all. The cottage is nestled amongst mature gardens with trees, Mediterranean shrubs and other interesting succulents. The rustic gardens hug the cottage with a shady alfresco dining spot where you can enjoy lazy lunches overlooking the pool. In its excellent position, encircled by rustic, paved terrace, the swimming pool water is clean and blue offering the perfect spot for families to enjoy a calming day, swim where sun worshippers can relax around the pool and enjoy sunbeds to soak up the rays with nothing more than birdsong to disturb the peace, and children can splash in and out of the cool, refreshing water until they are exhausted! An upper terrace offers a lovely sunset secret, where adults can enjoy the last of the rays with a glass of wine or two! (But this is NOT recommended for young ones; access is a little tricky and therefore not recommended for ages 7 or under). Overall, this is a super house for a family to enjoy a peaceful and tranquil break together. But if you are looking for modern, shiny and new, then this is not for you. Those seeking a traditional and rustic ambience will revel in this wonderful property and all that it represents. This is a private accommodation and guests will be able to access all advertised areas and use all advertised facilities. Living FINAL NOTES: The accommodation more or less all on one level, but with 3 steps from the lounge to the master bedroom, but without steps to the other bedrooms or pool and outside areas. Parking is within the grounds, free of charge. The roof terrace is accessed by an external staircase.

Toller Pool und schönes Haus! Babybett war leider schon sehr schmutzig und hat unangenehm gerochen. Konnten es deshalb nicht nutzen. Kommunikation war gut! Wussten nicht ob wir die Katze füttern müssen oder nicht...es stand ein Futternapf vor der Tür aber kein Hinweis zur Fütterung. Kleiner Hinweis: Manchmal kamen die Hunde vom Nachbarn vorbei! Sie waren sehr lieb...aber wer Angst vor Hunden hat, sollte wissen, dass sie ab und zu am Pool stehen. Außerdem gibt es ein kleines Problem mit der Toilettenspülung...man kann kein Papier in die Toilette schmeißen! Es war aber ein toller Stop und eine schöne Unterkunft an der Algarve l!
All was well with the house which was large and comfortable and it was easy to prepare food in the kitchen with all the facilities available. The hot water did not work initially but someone responded immediately and sent round a plumber twice when it didn’t work a second time. This was because the house hadn’t been used over the winter and after the second timely visit all worked fine. Unfortunately it was a very wet and windy week we spent on the Algarve so we were not able to use the pool and for a couple of the days over Easter we had no tv because the router and tv box were knocked out by lightening. However we made the best of the time we spent near Tavira, going round the town and on a boat trip to the island as well as plenty of bird spotting on the water and local nature reserves as well as a short walk into the hills. I would recommend this house without a doubt.

A car is essential when renting Casa Margarida as its peaceful location means there are no amenities in the immediate vicinity other than 1 restaurant at 750m - which can be reached on foot, for those who enjoy walking, as there is a hill to be tackled! But by car or by foot, Restaurant "Luis do Prego" must be tried!

The delightful attractions of Tavira offer colourful, cobbled streets, the famed Roman bridge over the meandering Rio Gilão, and an intriguing historical quarter replete with handsome 17th century merchants’ mansions, fine churches and convents of architectural note all bidding for your attention. Castle ramparts have been faithfully restored housing beautiful gardens of indigenous and exotic varieties, while pretty squares edged with café terraces offer the perfect pre-text for lazy afternoons while watching the World pass by.
Cuisine: An abundance of excellent eateries abound to suit all tastes and pockets, from the traditional to the more avant-garde. Fish and seafood are king here, freshly caught and served grilled, while a plethora of contemporary tapas bars have brought an edge and finesse to the local offering. Plentiful local cafés and gelaterias offer pleasing resting points while out exploring, and keen chefs will enjoy the daily market for freshly caught fish, seafood, meats and produce, all sourced locally and sold over a cacophony of local colour and commotion within the vast market place.
Beaches: Known for its outstanding coastline, the Algarve offers an unparalleled richness of golden beaches. Voted one of the best beaches in Portugal, Tavira island, conveniently reached from the centre of the town via short ferry crossing, is a 10km long paradise of soft golden sands, lapped by the clean, clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Nearby Barril beach, once the centre of a thriving tuna fishing community can be reached on foot via Tavira island, or via a fun miniature train departing from the nearby pretty fishing village of Santa Luzia, famed for being the ‘Octopus Capital’ of the Algarve. Heading east, vibrant Cabanas offers a further choice of excellent restaurants, bars and cafés and a superb beach of dune backed sands.
Nature: Hugging the coastline from Faro in the west through Tavira and then onto to Manta Rota in the east, The Ria Formosa Natural Park forms an expansive barrier against the Atlantic Ocean. Vast wetlands, sheltered lagoons, deserted islands and stunning beaches provide a perfect habitat for migratory birdlife and fragile marine ecosystems. Criss-crossed with trails and unmade paths, this is an ideal natural playground for cycling, walking and birdwatching.
Activities: The various local beaches offer excellent facilities for windsurfing, kite-surfing, paddle-boarding and jet-ski, while kayaking along the local Rio Gilão is a must to enjoy the undulating landscape of the Asseca valley, heading inland through soft pastures and orchards rich in sweet Algarve citrus fruits. World renowned for golf, the Algarve offers a plentiful supply of World class golf courses and the nearby courses of Benamor, Quinta da Ria & Cima, Monte Rei and Castro Marim cater for all levels and pockets.
The villa is located between Tavira and St Estevao - The use of a car is essential when renting this property.
It is within close reach of Faro Airport (30 minutes) , with easy access by car to numerous beautiful sandy beaches .
