Beautiful views. Easy drive to hiking trails and mountain scenery in historic Southeastern Oklahoma: Robbers Cave State Park, Winding Stair Hiking Trails, Talimena Drive, Ouachita Mountains and Hiking Trials, True Grit Trail, Judge Parker's Court in Fort Smith, Runestone Park in Heavener. Three bedroom farmhouse situated in the Sans Bois valley a few miles east of Red Oak. Rural setting, rustic living (that is to say, you'll encounter insects and wildlife outdoors), with full kitchen, central heat and air. No internet, but we do have network TV and a DVD player. Cell service is generally good.

I highly recommend this rental. It was the perfect location for my group of friends needing a peaceful nature break from Dallas. Our host was communicative and quickly responded to all of my messages. If you like birds, this is a great place to sit and take in their song. I sat for ages on the porch swing watching cardinals, blue jays, chickadees, and sparrows. I even saw a few scissor tails and a woodpecker. I also came prepared to cook for my crew. This was a thoughtfully appointed guest home with a full kitchen — everything we needed for serving up our family style dinner and breakfast was there. I will definitely be returning and plan to make this a recurring destination.
Nice relaxing home. Came to Poteau for a Cornhole Tournament. Quiet, and peaceful little place.
The location was perfect for our overnight stay. Was very close to our family in Red Oak. This will be a great place for us when we come for a longer vacation. There was plenty of room and the beds were comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.

We're about 5 miles from town and a mile off the highway. It's an easy drive but there's no public transportation so a vehicle is necessary.
