Centrally located and steps from the ocean, Gray House is one of Digby's oldest homes. The house dates from 1873, and has been thoroughly updated throughout in the last couple of years, including a new kitchen and a deck, perfect for breathing in the salt air and kicking back. Inside, you'll find 2 spacious bedrooms, lots of room for kicking back after you've climbed rocks, seen whales, or played golf at the nearby Pines course. Monthly rates for visiting healthcare professionals available. Inside, you'll find a modern house, with an updated kitchen, with a mix of contemporary and antique furnishings, and collected art, much of it from the local area. The main floor contains a spacious living space with a work station, a cosy dining room with another work station (my writing desk), and a bathroom, with the kitchen at the end. Off the kitchen, you'll find the utility room with the washer and dryer. Upstairs, you'll find a cozy hallway and two good sized bedrooms. The first contains two twin beds and some great local art, and the second has a queen sized bed. The layout of the house is one of our favourite things about it, and something we maintained when we updated it; it has a great flow through from the front door to the backyard.

Caroline has been so lovely during our stay in Digby. We stayed for a month and Caroline was always only a quick message away and she answered effusively every time. Her place is quaint, clean and makes you feel more relaxed than you ever thought you could! I highly recommend staying here during your time in Digby.

Grayhouse is located steps from the Annapolis Basin and its famous high tides, and the TransCanada Trail! It's a great location to explore the area from, and a quick 5 min walk to food, coffee, and drinks on Digby's main street, but away from the action enough to be quiet.
We love visiting close local gems like The Seabiscuit Cafe (who make a nice fish chowder and a takeaway lunch for whale watching), Recardo's for donairs, and many of the other restaurants that serve fresh seafood (Carla's has our favourite seafood). If you're heading a little further afield, Point Prim is about a ten minute drive and one of our favourite places in Nova Scotia. Culloden Wharf, a great rocky beach, and the Vantassel Trails are about ten minutes away by car as well.
We're about a five minute drive from the Ferry Terminal, where the Fundy Rose arrives from and departs to Saint John, New Brunswick twice daily.
We're about five minutes by car from the Pines Golf Course (about a twenty minute walk).
Digby is a great gateway to a wealth of things, including the Digby Neck with its amazing whale watching and Sandy Cove beach, The French Shore and its Acadian heritage, and Mavilette beach, and Annapolis Royal's historic sites.
Parking is available on site, and Digby can be explored by foot easily from Gray House. If you take the TransCanada path at the end of our block, you're about a five minute walk to the middle of all the action. Other close attractions include Point Prim, a ten minute drive away.
Digby has limited public transportation.
Digby is a great home base to access other places in southwest Nova Scotia from, and there are many great natural and local sites about a twenty minute drive from the house, including Annapolis Royal, Bear River, Weymouth, and the French Shore.
Digby is the urban access point to the Digby Neck. It's about an hour and a half to the furthest community, Westport, where many whale watching charters depart from. You have to take two ferries, and it's important to plan your day to accommodate for this if you plan to go! It's well worth the trip!
