Discover all the Jungfrau region has to offer as you make yourself at home in this colourful, spacious, and cozy first floor apartment, perfectly situated at the heart of it all. Welcome to our cozy 1st floor apartment in the heart of the town! (One staircase to go up). Our aim is to share a warm and inviting home with travellers from around the globe. Housed in an old traditional building where we once lived ourselves, this spacious apartment is perfect for creating beautiful memories with friends and family. Enjoy the convenience of a central location and experience living among locals during your stay. There is a designated free parking spot right outside the house ensuring a hassle-free experience throughout your visit. BEDROOM The bedroom is separated from the rest of the apartment by a wooden door. There you'll find a cozy futon bed (the mattress is close to the floor) measuring 180x200cm/71"x79", along with a dedicated working area. The bed comes with 2 separate duvets each measuring 160x210cm/62"x82" and two pillows measuring 65x100cm/25"x39". When we receive a booking for 2 guests we will always have only the double bed prepared. If you are 2 guests who wish to sleep in separate beds please let us know in advance so we can put a mattress protector and a fresh bedsheet on one of the couches. In this way you can take a pillow and a blanket from the bedroom and use them for the bed in the living room. The office desk measures 60x120cm/23"x47" and has storage space on the side. ENTRANCE Step into our welcoming entrance area adorned with a big round mirror and a cozy bench, providing a perfect spot to comfortably remove your shoes. Equipped with hooks for jackets and a dedicated small space for shoe storage, this area is quite spacious, something helpful especially to those who travel with a lot of luggage. KITCHEN Discover a charming and spacious kitchen tucked away in a separate room, fully equipped to enhance your dining experience. It boasts all the essentials for delightful meals, such as cutlery, pots and pans, plates, glasses, a fridge with a freezer, oven, toaster, and an induction stove. You'll also find a kettle, microwave, a large table with four chairs, along with kitchen necessities like detergent, dishwasher, kitchen towels, sponges, olive oil, salt, pepper, and more. Everything you need for a convenient and enjoyable culinary experience awaits in this well-appointed kitchen. Please note: we don't provide a blender, a mixer. LIVING ROOM Our inviting living room is adorned with warm and cozy decor, featuring a 65-inch Samsung TV equipped with Netflix and wifi connection for your entertainment pleasure. The room is bathed in natural light through three large windows, and has direct access to a big balcony with Mountain View on the left and right in the distances behind the buildings. In terms of sleeping arrangements, there are two wooden beds, each measuring 80x200cm. When booked by two guests, these beds serve as comfortable couches, and the bedroom is prepared accordingly. However, for three or four guests, these beds are transformed into cozy sleeping spaces, each adorned with the same blanket measuring 160x210cm/62"x82" and a pillow of 65x65cm/25"x25". This flexible setup ensures a comfortable and accommodating stay for varying group sizes. Please refrain from using the couch as a bed if it doesn't have the proper protection. Damages and extra cleaning needs will be charged extra. BATHROOM Although our bathroom is on the smaller side, it offers a cozy and functional space. You'll find a bathtub with curtain protection, accompanied by complimentary shampoo, shower gel, and a small hair dryer for your convenience. To ensure your comfort, we provide each guest with two towels – a larger one measuring 70x140cm/27"x55" and a smaller one at 50x100cm/19"x39". Following European and Swiss standards we provide upon request a free change of towels during longer stays. Kindly note that a change of towels can be first requested only after 5 days. Guests are kindly requested not to wash the provided towels themselves. Please refrain from using the towels to remove makeup or taking them outside. The boiler responsible for warm water needs to be reheated. If the water starts to feel cold after a few showers let us know so we can show you how to heat the water again. It usually takes 30 minutes to reheat. BALCONY Our balcony is spacious with two comfy chairs and a small couch for 2 more people with a small table for the middle. You'll see a building right in front, but on the left and right, there are beautiful mountains peeking between the buildings. If you stand at the balcony's edge and look back, you can even spot Harder Kulm, a small but famous mountain in Interlaken. And don't be surprised if you catch sight of paragliders gliding above – it happens quite often! HEATING SYSTEM The house is heated by a central heating system through radiators. They work only during the cold months of the year. It can be that if you arrive during the first cold days of the year that the heating system has not yet been turned on. The heating is adjustable and can be controlled from the side. Number 5 is the highest setting. The room temperature won’t heat up above 20-22 degrees Celsius. This is the standard in Switzerland. For example if it’s a warm day outside it’s very likely that the radiators feel cold. COOLING SYSTEM In this region of Switzerland, air conditioners are not commonly found in homes. The way us locals ensure our homes remain pleasantly cool during the warmest days is by closing the windows, drawing all curtains, and even shutting exterior window shutters while we are out exploring or working during the day. These proactive measures prevent the homes from heating up excessively. As nightfall brings cooler temperatures, we open the windows to welcome some fresh air. Inside the apartment, you will also find a strong standing fan, which can be used to enhance airflow and create a pleasant breeze. LAUNDRY CORNER Just one staircase below your apartment, is a laundry corner stocked with professional washing and drying machines. They're yours to use for free, and we've got detergent covered. You'll be sharing these machines with one other apartment. The specific directions to get there are: Follow the stairs until the ground floor --> In front of the hanging bicycles are 2 doors --> open the door on the right to see the laundry corner.
