There's no way to do this place justice without relying on hyperbole. So I won't even try. Suffice to say that this is one of the finest, most peaceful, most beautiful houses in which I've ever stayed. Every single thing was perfect.

Amazing property!! Lovely get away! Our world travelling friends told us that Eden’s Lair is the place that you can’t get off your mind. It’s that special. There are long views of the woods and the ocean from every room, every deck, balcony and patio. It is a calming place with beautiful terraced gardens and a vegetable garden with an arbor that reminds you of a country house in Italy or Southern France. We loved watching the sunset from the hot tub and fire pit patio. It was so lovely and quiet. The house is fun. Rooms open into other rooms. All with amazing views. There is a large room to watch movies, another to play pool, small spaces to curl up and read and a very large dining table. The kitchen is well supplied and the linens are very nice. There are fun decor touches everyplace. The owners obviously care for the property and they are very kind: Thank you Teo for not giving up on helping our friends find their car key, so late at night! We are coming back at end of summer, with the family! Can't wait!! Eli and Ron

We chose Inverness because of a friend’s recommendation and this particular estate because of the reviews and photos we saw. Frankly, the whole experience surpassed our wildest expectations! The communications prior to our arrival were prompt and to the point. We particularly appreciated the tips for places to stock up on locally made products like the creamery and bakery in Point Reyes Station. Upon arrival, Teo was there to greet us and give us a tour of the estate. He is a very charming and competent young man who answered all our questions and discreetly desapared after having us situated but not before letting us know that he was a cellphone-call away if we needed anything. There are no words to describe the sweeping views of the ocean, the National Forest ( that literally abuts the property!) that can be seen from the different decks and balconies, with lounge chairs, that surround the house. The terraced gardens, which you can stroll through, are beautiful with numerous fruit trees and flowers. It feels like you are surveying a corner of Tuscany! The house is an unusual, but beautiful design with continuous windows and glass doors on every side. We particularly loved the upstairs Great Room with confy couches and an elegant, streamlined decor that is a combination of missionary Spanish with Southeast Asia touches where we gathered to watch movies and play some of the table games provided. Our youngest son and his wife got a kick out of the Flying Bedroom with a bed hanging from the ceiling and 180 degrees windows that gave them an amaizing view of the starry night sky! We were lucky to have perfectly mild weather to enjoy the hot tub located on a stone patio that afforded us the view and the sounds of the night. We definitely are hoping to come back to enjoy more of this outstandingly situated and beautiful property — next time with not only our children but with the grandkids! They would enjoy all the hiking available a short walk from the property. Also, while we were there they were finishing the construction of a play ground complete with climbing wall, swings, trampoline, etc. This is a place for lovers of nature but also of comfort and beautiful indoors ( they even have a very interesting library!) We felt that it was worth every penny and are happy to highly recommend it. Alicia Schujman

PROS: Allison was very responsive, both ahead of time and during our stay when we'd encountered a small issue that she helped troubleshoot. The house had fresh flowers and baked goods waiting when we arrived which was a special touch. The space is very large and nice for a group to hang around. You will never feel claustrophobic! There are at least three distinct sitting/lounging areas so it was nice to check them all out and enjoy the different views. The kitchen was well-stocked so we were able to cook comfortably. The views are absolutely stunning and you can enjoy them from anywhere in the house. The bathrooms are stocked with nice natural care products and the sitting rooms had games, puzzles, etc. CONS: If you arrive after dark, ask Allison for special directions as the house is very quirkily constructed so the different entrances are not clear in the daytime, not to mention when it is dark. It is a very unique house, with an interesting layout and a lot of character. One of the queen beds is on a giant swing, which isn't quite as comfortable for sleeping as it sounds. I am afraid that our visit might've been tainted by something entirely outside of Allison's control, namely the weather. It was windy and rainy the whole weekend so we were unable to take advantage of the estate in the way that other reviewers raved about. That made it feel a bit like a very expensive, very secluded house with a nice window and view, but we spent outside time trying to get safely to our cars on the steep driveway (Allison will give you directions on how to manage that crazy driveway! Listen to them! :). It is hard to know for sure, but maybe if we were able to be outside at all we would've had a fuller appreciation of the property. Notes: 1) It is a 5-10 minute drive on a very windy road into town. If you get carsick on curves this is not something you'll want to do very often so don't expect to be "popping into town." It is the perfect place to hole up for the day (if you have nice weather). 2) You will likely have little/no cell reception so plan for being incommunicado until you get onto the wifi.

This home has some of the most spectacular views I have ever seen and in the perfect location within minutes to hiking trails, beaches, and great restaurants. The home was incredibly unique with a well equipped kitchen, plenty of space, and endless spots on the many balconies to sit back and enjoy the scenery. My favorite part of the home was the huge windows and spacious living room where my family and I played pool in every night. This was one of the best trips my family has ever been on!
