We just finished building the house, so it’s brand new as of 2024. The home is extremely quiet due to the materials and construction methods we chose, and we built it with natural light in mind (I’m a photographer in addition to being a builder, so this was important haha), and tried to make a space that feels bright and airy but also comfortable and warm. A good place to study or read, but also a great place to have a couple friends over. The house has a gas range and extremely effective range hood ventilation with filtered make-up air system. It has a tankless water heater for limitless hot water. Also has a wall furnace controlled with a Nest Thermostat, but TBH, the house is so well insulated and the climate so mild, it’s very very seldom needed. Internet is business-class internet, which basically means it’s fast, of course, but doesn’t have a bandwidth cap/throttling like residential internet does. There’s a decent sized shed in the backyard that’s fully available for storing personal items you might not need in the house. The garage isn’t available to guests, as it’s used for both utilities (the water heater and some networking/electrical components) and yard maintenance items. The house is exactly a half mile (~13 min) walk from two of the area’s best coffee shops (Acme Coffee and Counterpoint), an incredible micro-brewery (Other Brother Beer Co.), and some really incredible restaurants (Melange, check it out for sure).
