Newington · 出租单元里的独立房间 · 1室0床1.5卫 · 可住1人 · Central Gorgeous Green Room for 1 guest
This is a large A-listed tenement flat in Newington. It is within walking distance of Edinburgh University (and only five minutes from the Pollock Halls), the vibrant city centre, Queen’s Park and the Meadows. We offer a very safe and cosy room for one person. You will find everything you need here for a comfortable stay. This stylish Green Room makes an ideal base from which to explore the city. The surrounding area has four supermarkets and many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
This place is a real find. Friendly and responsive hosts, great room and facilities and in the perfect spot - just a few hundred metres from Queen's Hall with the city centre only a 15' walk away past a wonderful and selection of shops, restaurants and curiosity centres. Lots to see and explore. Thank you so much for sharing your home with me for my visit.
The cozy Green Room that I stayed in was suited me very well. In spite of the apartment being close to a busy street the room was very silent. The location was ideal for me - just a few blocks away from Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat. I received very useful advice concerning restaurants and public transport. My last day I could store my luggage in the common area and collect it in the afternoon before taking a bus to Glasgow.
The Green room was very comfortable for me after the whole day walkings. Natalia has organised everything very well - I received on time the information how to reach the address and the co-host Chi-Wen was waiting for me there. I am very grateful to Chi-Wen for her kindness and hospitality! The address is at walkable distance from the city centre and very close to several bus stops.
My home, in South Clerk Street, is well served by public transport to and from Princes Street as well as a service to the beautiful Border country.
The surrounding area has many charming individual shops, plenty of bars cafes and restaurants. The restaurants I would recommend are Southpour, just yards from the main door, and the Salisbury Arms on Dalkeith Road. One pub not to miss is the Sheep Heid Inn, in Duddingston Village, which dates from 1360 and is said to be Scotland's oldest surviving public house. The menu is so good even the Queen has eaten there. You also can play a game of skittles in the oldest alley in the country. It takes about 30 minutes to walk there, but the views are worth it, especially around Duddingston Loch.
There are plenty of places to walk and run such as The Meadows, Queen's Park and, for the really fit, Arthur's Seat. The centre of town is just half hour walk away. Swimmers are catered for at the Royal Commonwealth Pool and tennis players can enjoy a game at the Meadows Tennis Courts. Both venues are around five minutes away on foot.
Across the road and less than two minutes walk to your right, you can find a stop for many buses into town. Coming back, the stop you want is just through the traffic lights outside. Or if you want to go the other way, there are plenty of bus services just around the corner or past the Southpour restaurant. A single journey costs £1.80 regardless of distance; the dat ticket for limitless journeys is £4.
