Heather was an awesome host and her place was exactly as described. It is a big property where you can unplug and experience nature. She showed us some cool local spots to see an Elk herd and a river pool where we could cool off on a hot day. We BBQ'd outside every night and the cabin stays cool if you open the windows at night and close them early in the morning. Heather also went above and beyond to help us when our dog got sick. She knows her stuff! We were able to get there easily with a two-wheel drive midsize SUV in July so don't let the road scare you. My recommendation for future residents is to download the surrounding area of the lake on Gmaps so that it works offline before you arrive so that you can still enter directions and travel to different spots around the lake.

Heather was a great host. The cabin was perfect and the history of the ranch is pretty neat! I went up with my dog to chill, unwind, unplug and simply do nothing but relax. The maps with suggestions were fantastic. We explore all around the area and took peaceful naps while getting some reading and writing done. Thank you for a beautiful stay.

Cute little rustic cabin in the woods. I was worried it was going to be incredibly hot (highs up to 85-100 degrees outside), but with keeping the windows closed during the day, the cabin stayed very cool and comfortable for afternoon naps and usually cooled down a lot by bedtime, plus Heather gave us 2 electric fans which helped too. The shower was great with plenty of hot water and nice smelling organic products.We enjoyed making dinner on the propane grill and using a communal kitchen just 1 min away was really easy and a nice way to chat with the other people. In the polo field just a 2 min walk down the hill, there is a cute fenced in area with a fire pit and picnic tables, even lights and running water. We appreciated that there were water bowls for our dog at our cabin and even water bowls at the kitchen and in the polo field for dogs. The pond and creek is a nice 20 min walk away (though I recommend driving there on a hot day) and has bathrooms, a rope swing, and picnic tables with overhead shade, like a community pool feeling with friendly families. Appreciated Heather's binder for activity ideas and an invite to see aerial yoga performed by her friend/neighbor. Great for getting away, felt like we were at summer camp! (in a good way) Thank you!
