We stayed here while in the area for an ultramarathon and really enjoyed our stay! Location was great, house was very clean, and there was plenty of space. The only downside was it was slightly loud and bright at night with cars passing by, so I’d recommend a noise machine for anyone sensitive with sound when sleeping.

I do not recommend staying in this home. We had a beyond terrible experience and lost a significant amount of money. I booked this home to help my mother recover from a double mastectomy surgery (she lives in the same town as the rental) After surgery we decided it would be better to stay in her home to help her recover. I booked Robert’s home on Wednesday evening and requested to cancel Friday morning (just over 24 hours). I explained my situation and apologized for the inconvenience. He denied my request even though he could have given me a partial refund of what was paid to him. He stated his home needed the money and I had issues with my scheduling. He was inconsiderate and VERY slow to respond (usually taking until the next day to message back). If you are considering this rental please make sure you are 100% sure of your visit. I wish I would have known this before loosing almost 1000 dollars. There are plenty of other more private and flexible homes in Lansing w/ pleasant hosts

What a wonderful stay at the Historic Gambill House in Lansing! We were in town to visit family who lives nearby and it was a bonus to be able to stay here and enjoy downtown Lansing. Lansing is an up and coming town with several great shops and restaurants with beautiful scenery. The river park right across the street was convenient for fishing and taking walks. The house itself is historic and it was immaculately clean. The hardwood floors were beautiful and it was the perfect size for our family of five. The kitchen was well-stocked for our needs and it was so convenient having a coffeemaker, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The remodeled bathrooms had beautiful showers and we loved the convenience of having one upstairs and one downstairs. Robert was very responsive and allowed us to check in a little early with no issues at all. Overall, our stay at the Historic Gambill House was cozy and relaxing and we would love to stay here again!

We spent the day hiking at Grayson Highlands State Park and it was a welcoming home to spend the night in. We would definitely stay here again!

Everyone in the group enjoyed our stay at Robert's. We went there to ride bikes in Damascus but were rained out. However, the leaves were stunning.
