Meeting the neighbours at this property is a little different; see the ponies, cattle, lambs, pigs and chickens, which are all kept on-site. Part of a complex, the barn itself sits to one side of the owner’s farmhouse, close to the quaint village of Chulmleigh, although privacy is assured. After a busy day in the Devon countryside, why not sit by the fire pit and enjoy a glass of wine, or relax in the lazy hammock? The barn has space for the whole family to enjoy, with an open-plan contemporary lounge/kitchen/diner making it a great spot to cook, eat, and unwind together. In the colder months, snuggle up in front of the wood burner and make use of the underfloor heating on the ground floor, which will soon leave you feeling toasty. In summer, open the ample windows and awake to the cool country breeze, taking in the far-reaching views. Step away from the refreshing farm life and explore all that Devon has to offer. Visit the sandy beaches of North Devon at Saunton (24 miles) and Woolacombe (29 miles), or lace up your walking boots and explore the splendour of Dartmoor (16 miles) and Exmoor (19.5 miles). For a more urban day trip, take a ride on the pretty Tarka Train Line and visit the market town of Barnstaple (17 miles). Closer to home though, you’ll find riding stables, a golf course, pubs and shops in Chulmleigh (5.5 miles), plus walks from the doorstep.
