Enjoy a restorative solo trip, or a romantic holiday, at this sweet converted barn in a rural location 5.5 miles from the coast at Aberystwyth. You’ll have enchanting woodland and countryside walks right from your doorstep, setting you up for some quality time with your partner and canine companions. Whether you fancy hiking, cycling, beach days or visits around traditional Welsh villages, you’ll find plenty to occupy you nearby. You’ll access the property via an uphill path from the parking spot. The barn was refurbished in 2022 so has a fresh and contemporary feel, with plenty of space and appealing decorative touches like pretty tilework. It features a welcoming open-plan lounge and dining area for eating, watching TV and cosying up by the wood burner. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped so you can whip up hearty breakfasts and nourishing evening meals. When it’s time to turn in for the night, head up to the master bedroom upstairs, with its double bed, chaise longue and appealing skylight. Outside, you’ll have a gravel courtyard with outdoor seating and lovely woodland views – ideal for enjoying evening meals in mild weather. It’s fully enclosed, so safe for pets to roam freely while you sip wine and absorb your surroundings. Just 1.5 miles away you can join the Ystwyth Trail, a 21-mile walking and cycling route connecting Tregaron (11.5 miles) with Aberystwyth. The coastal town of Aberystwyth has plenty to offer tourists, with its independent shops, bars, restaurants, promenade and cliff railway. At Aberystwyth station you can also board the Vale of Rheidol narrow gauge steam railway towards Devil’s Bridge, a fascinating site with an impressive 90 m waterfall.
