You are looking at it from your backyard! IMPORTANT NOTE: do not climb up or down the cliff! It is not safe for you and for the land. We are planning to install a safe access staircase in the future; for now, the closet access point is 4 min walk down the Blue Point drive. Local beaches and access points are public and guests are allowed to enjoy them, but expected to stay within the designated area.
 Highland Glen Conservation Area: a 5 min drive, 12 min bike ride, 45ish min hike
This Conservation Area boasts 26 acres of land on the shores of Huron. Enjoy fishing, boating and watersports via the boat launch, swimming at the beach, picnic facilities, and a play area.
 Ipperwash Beach: a 20-minute drive along the Lakeshore Road
West Ipperwash Road has the Ipperwash Beach Club, recommended for lunch or dinner and an Ice Cream Shop, near the waterfront. Prior to Covid they offered Kids movies on a big screen on Thursdays next to the ice cream shop.
 Port Franks: a 25 min drive
Great public beach, antique stores (there is a few along Hw 21, all the way up to Goderich – an hour and 10 min drive)
 Grand Bend and Pinery Provincial Park: about 30 min along the Lakeshore Road
Pinery is a must-do day trip! Make sure we come early to find a parking spot and have enough time to do a little bit of everything: cycling or hiking on its beautiful trails (bikes are available for rent if you don’t bring yours), pedal along the serene channel watching fishes and turtles, and several hours of fun on its beautiful beaches. (We also must grab an ice cream in the park’s famous ice-cream shop. Have kids – no choice!) In winter, we come for cross-country skiing (again, if we left out skis behind, we can rent). Although these are our favorites, exploration does not stop here.
Grand Bend is a great spot for fancy restaurants, best ice-cream places, rentals, souvenir shops and other touristy attractions. Highly recommended: The Pinery Antique Shop, Grand Bend Flee Market, Grand Bend drive in movie theatre).
 Sarnia: a 25-30 min drive along the Lakeshore Road.
A beautiful small city (population 71,600) famous for its beaches and parks, the Blue Water Bridge (a twin-span international bridge across the St. Clair River).
The cheapest Gas is always at the corner of Hwy 21 / Lakeshore Road. It’s located on the tip of the reserve of Kettle Point. There is also a small grocery store, (not cheap, go to Forest)
Boat Launches:
• The closest boat launch is in Highland Glen (was closed as of May 2022, please check)
• Heading southwest, 13 min (14.8 km) taking Lakeshore Rd/Lambton County Rd 7, towards Townsend Line/County Rd 12. You can park your boat out front of one of the public beach accesses in Lake Valley Grove for the day.
• Kettle Point Boat Launch $10 cash. Near Kettle Point gas station, turn on Ipperwash Rd & head down the first road on the left.
• The Port Franks Marina
Snacks and Dining within 20 min range:
Joey Little's Pizza – 15 min drive (9111 W Ipperwash Rd, Lambton Shores, ON N0N 1J2) – a good pizza place with delivery option.
MacPherson's Restaurant – 20 min drive (8512 Lakeshore Rd, Thedford, ON N0M 2N0) – great for breakfast or lunch.
Grogs – 20 min drive (8604 Lakeshore Rd, Thedford, ON N0M 2N0) – a good casual place for lunch or dinner.
Recommended Day Trips:
• Pinery Provincial Park
• Brand Bend
• Sarnia
• London (recommended for serious shopping, several museums (we recommend the Museum of Ontario Archaeology and London Children’s Museum).
• Lakeside drive to Goderich
• Farms within an hour drive (do your research depending on your interests: wineries, pick-your-own, horses, etc.)

Parking for 3-4 cars on the driveway (in one raw). Limited parking on the street.
