Enjoy a newly remodeled 1940s spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home with a semi private loft with pullout sleeper sofa. Located in a quiet historic neighborhood 1 mile from downtown. Private fenced back yard with covered patio and grill with plenty of relaxed seating. A spacious modern kitchen has brand new appliances, all utensils, cookware, and spices needed to prepare meals in the comfort of the home. Comfy beds and a great view of Simpson's rest will make for a relaxed and restful stay. In addition to the 2 private bedrooms with queen beds, there is a semi private loft with a comfy Ikea full+ pullout sleeper sofa for 2. The TV/entertainment center is also located in the loft area rather than the living room. If you need additional space, the 1br/1br basement with kitchen can also be rented via AirBnB under the title: "Cozy 1br garden apartment with private entrance" or direct message us. Enjoy the coffee or espresso maker, teapot with tea, coffee, creamer, and sugar provided. There is no A/C in the house other than window coolers upstairs. It is constructed of brick and stays pretty comfortable. On the hottest of days (high 90's) the house may get over 75 degrees. We suggest you open the windows in the evening and run the fans. This will significantly cool the home for comfortable sleeping.

Loved it so much! Will def be staying here again. House is so cute!! I cannot get over how perfect and relaxing it was. The tenant in the basement is super nice and let me pet his dog so even better! With our trip it was 4 woman so it def made us feel safe knowing a male was close by. This house is accurate. Would recommend everyone to stay here. The one bathroom and the stairs outside are an inconvenience BUT we can’t blame the owners for that. Absolutely perfect!
Valerie’s house is in a quiet, well-kept neighborhood overlooking the Trinidad sign. It’s filled with an eclectic mix of global art and unique, tasteful decor. We very much appreciated that it was dog-friendly with a fenced-in space. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked with supplies. What more could you ask for?
Valerie and JJ’s place was just what we were looking for during a weekend in Trinidad. It was super cute and accessible for walking to the downtown shops. We weren’t coming for biking on this trip but will certainly be back to enjoy the areas around Trinidad on two wheels. Thank you!
A very clean welcoming place with interesting and eclectic furnishings and decor. They have stocked the kitchen well and bathroom was clean and well furnished. In a cute quiet neighborhood.
What a great place to stay in Trinidad. We loved the decor and the beds were very comfortable. A great view of Simpson's Rest from the living room. Would definitely stay again!

Quiet, established neighborhood conveniently located less than a mile from downtown, 2 blocks (7 minute walk) to Trinidad State College, 4 blocks (5 minute walk) to Kit Carson Park. Walking distance to Simpson’s Rest hiking trails and the new Wormhole Mountain Bike Trail system.
Less than a 15 minute walk to downtown and other Trinidad features, Trinidad is also a bike friendly town. You can ride from town several miles in any direction or just take a cruiser into downtown Trinidad for coffee. Easy parking in the neighborhood, including off street parking at the property.

I have been lucky to have traveled extensively, volunteered worldwide and because where you lay your head at night can be such an impactful part of your travels, I'm always looking for opportunities to create a welcoming and comfortable place, whether you are vacationing, stopping on your way through or working remotely. I grew up in the Midwest, lived in Chicago for several years, and now love the mountains as much as I love all my favorite destinations, from cities (San Francisco, Chicago, London) to mountain towns (Aspen, Crested Butte and Telluride) to international bucket list destinations (Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mombasa, Marrakesh). I believe that travel is the key to understanding different people and different cultures, and I have learned that people are fabulous all over the world!
