Great camping spot right on the river. Had bathrooms and fire wood was cheap. Also did Starved Rock kayak for 2 hours. Had a great time. Heard coyotes in the middle of the night on a full moon which was so cool. Definitely stay again.

The campsite was beautiful, and our host was very helpful, kind, and great at communicating with us ahead of time. We filled out waivers in advance which made check in a breeze! Our campsite was right on the water, but there was plenty of greenery between the campsite and the water, so we didn't have to worry about our young kiddos getting too close. There is a picnic table and a fire pit at each camp site, which is super convenient. The porta-potties were not too far of a walk (those by the entrance were much cleaner than those further back). There was quite a bit of road noise and some noise from what I assume was a nearby shooting range, which made our kids a little nervous. But other than that, it was very quiet and peaceful. There were no other campers while we were there, but the campsites are fairly close together, so it is of note that they won't be very private when there are other guests present. Overall GREAT first camping experience for our kiddos. Highly recommend.
