Village : Bali is a colourful and friendly seaside resort surrounded by hilly terrain. In this place the blue of the sky and the light blue of the sea are linked in a beautiful combination. It is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations of Crete. For those wanting to explore the island there are a number of car hire outlets and good public bus connections to Rethymno (30km) and Heraklio. (approx 50km. Jeep safari trips may take you off the beaten track to mountain villages and beautiful beaches Apartments : Valentino apartments and studios, occupy an elevated, uphill position which affords good views. These pleasant studios and apartments are at a quiet spot, 40 m from the sea and less than 5 min walk from the nearest beach and resort center. This apartment is suitable for 2 to 4 persons, comprising of one bedroom with twin beds and a living room with a single bed and space for a fourth (camp bed) with kitchenette, refrigerator, shower/WC and balcony or terrace, all of which have seaview. Absolute Serenity with Breathtaking Views! This hidden gem in Bali is a serene oasis, boasting stunning vistas that take your breath away. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making the stay feel like a home away from home. The tranquility of this place is unmatched, making it the ultimate choice for a peaceful retreat. Easily the best place to stay in Bali - a definite must-visit!
Valentino is at the quieter end of Bali. The views over the sea and port are amazing, and the sky is dark enough for star gazing. Apartment 7 has a huge sun terrace with loungers, table and chairs. This gets the Sun from sunrise almost to sunset. The smaller balcony with table and chairs has afternoon/evening Sun. The hosts are very welcoming, and provided a welcome pack of olive oil , wine and some delicious home made biscuits. The apartment was clean on arrival, and is cleaned daily. If we pass this way again, we shall visit again.
The marvellous sandy beaches around the settlement are offered for swimming. There are water sports and boat trips. You can find a great surrounding area perfect for walking and mountain biking. There are lots of restaurants and traditional tavernas. In the evening the visitor of the village can have fun in the nightly clubs and the cafeterias of the region. A Dotto train travels round the area every hour so you can go to other beaches with more restaurants to try.
Can you lets us know the way (bus, taxi, rented car, etc) and time of your arrival, so that we can help you get to us.
If you get a car (try here https://www.hertz.gr/en/Crete, or http://www.prentakis-tours.gr/, or mail to autobalisopasis@gmail.com to rent from a person at Bali). Use a map to come to Bali village, and then use the attached satellite photo to navigate from main road, through the village, to us.
If you get a taxi: try http://www.holidaytaxis.com/. I think it’s rather cheap compared to usual taxis. It can deliver you when you arrive AND pick you up when you leave. In my opinion this is a really good choice, especially if you arrive late in the evening. For usual taxi try SteliosSalvarakis@yahoo.gr
If you use a bus
I think last bus is at 21.00 (depends on the season), but you have to check it (or ask me to check it for you):
Heraclio bus station http://www.ktelherlas.gr/
Chania bus station http://www.bus-service-crete-ktel.com/default.html
-If you come - land at Heraclio airport:
Airport bus stop => bus => Heraclio bus station => bus => Bali village bus stop => Rethymno town/ Chania town
-If you come land at Chania airport:
Airport => taxi => Souda bus stop => bus => a. or b.
Rethymno bus station => bus => Bali village bus stop => Heraclio town.
Bali village bus stop => Heraclio town
You obviously always stop at Bali village bus stop
The towns are from west to east are like:
West – Chania - (Chania airport) – Souda port – Rethymno- Bali village – Heraclio - east
It’s a long and tiring way from bus stop to the Bali village and Valentino apartments. So in case you will use a bus to come to us, make sure that:
You will stop at the right bus stop “Bali village” which is between Heraclio town and Rethymno town, not at the end of the route.
Lets us know the time that you estimate you will be at Bali, a few days earlier.
There is a “tourist train” that stops at the bus stop when the bus comes.
