The accommodation is located on a property with 30 sled dogs, 2 american horses and 2 lappish goats.
Our place is ideally located to enjoy the lake that is 200m away from the house. A gate at the bottom of the horses' park will give you quick and easy access to the lake (note the property is not directly adjacent to the lake but it's very close).
You can also enjoy the hamlet's beach by the lake, accessible by foot (30 min) or car (3 min); you'll most probably have the beach for yourself; we have never seen anyone else there!
You can also catch some great fish ( trouts, pikes, char, perch )on the lake and grill them on the outside fireplace in the evening.
Enjoy some beautiful hikes in the area, and take the opportunity to do some berry and mushroom picking too. The wildlife is omnipresent; you may encounter wild animals such as moose, deer, swans, multiple wild ducks species, capercaillie, grouse, or the Samis' reindeers.
The property is also well situated to go on a day-road trip to the beautiful mountains and lakes situated between Hemavan and the Norwegian border (1h30), or even stretch it to the Norwegian lakes and fjords (2h30). Being on the road is part of the pleasure. The scenery is absolutely amazing!
If you want to, there is also the possibility to meet our 30 Siberian Huskies, long distance world champions in 2020 and 2022. They ran the most famous sled dog races in the world (Iditarod, Yukon Quest, Finnmarkslopet, Femundlopet, La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont-Blanc, etc.) and are a well balanced and super friendly pack. If you are lucky, some puppies will be around to lick your face.
The pack will occasionally howl and show their excitement when going out in the morning (not too early, don't worry) and when it's time for their food late in the afternoon. It's noisy for a couple of minutes but it's pretty charming.
A couple of board games and card sets are available.
We also rent a 2-person canoe kayak (350 Sek per day and 200 Sek for half day).
In case you'd like to machine wash and dry your clothes it is possible for a fee (80 SEK)
