I cannot recommend the Hawthorn Hideaway highly enough! This is truly a place you will want to come back to. Karen is a fantastic host and lovely person- very responsive and attentive. You can tell she puts a lot of thought and effort into making her home feel like it's yours. She provided me with wonderful reccomendations and taxi numbers which were very helpful. The entire flat was PRISTINE with everything you would need for your stay down to cookware and toiletries. She even treated me to some sweets which was so kind! As a solo traveler I felt very safe here. The neighborhood/neighbors are quiet and peaceful. There are several bus stops within a short walk from the flat that make getting into the city center very easy, or about a 10-15 min walk, depending where in the city you are going. (If you are interested in walking on the castle walls, an entrance is right near by!). Thank you Karen for a five star experience and making my first time in York all the more special! :)

I would recommend Karens Airbnb to anyone, it’s the perfect stay. The flat was pristine and had lovely furnishings and only a short walk from the city centre. Karen was lovely and so helpful and left thoughtful toiletries and good for us when we got there.

Fantastic Airbnb. Can't fault it! We had the best 5 days here, the flat has everything you might need and every detail has been thought of. It is only 15 minutes away to York city centre and you can walk through the wall to get there! It also has Asda 5 minutes walk away! Don't think twice if you're considering your next stay in York!
