What an extraordinary place! The house is full of interesting objects collected all over the world, the same is true of the huge collection of books. The finca is situated in a beautiful countryside, green and now blooming. The house has everything one needs. The owners did all they could to help solve any problem that arose. It was a very enjoyable stay for the whole family.

Please note that, contrary to Pippa's representation, the pool is NOT necessarily private and is shared by another rental on the property. we didn't actually run into them, but we did rent on promise of a private pool. The other renters have separate lounges and terrace somewhat removed. That said, we found this place to be classy and artfully decorated and totally enjoyed our stay. It is on a hillside and all oak and olive trees, boulders, and old stone walls. The pool is no more than 45 seconds away and nicely landscaped. The kitchen is properly outfitted. There is a TV with streaming. We thought Caceres wasnt worth the trouble - just another cute walled midaevil village, but surrounded by a busy city. Merida's Roman ruins are wonderful and we'll worth a long day. Also don't miss the nearby hilltop town of Montanchez: small, jamon, and a spectacular castle that is free to wander anytime. You can hike there from the house or drive in 15 minutes.(Whether you hike all the way or not, be absolutely sure to wander up the road a few minutes until it turns into an ancient stone road - wonderful!.) On the negative side: the beds are rather hard, and when the air cools in the evening you can occasionaly hear road noise from the highway across the valley.

Una casa espléndida en medio de la igualmente espléndida dehesa extremeña, con una bien nutrida biblioteca (sobre todo, arte, viajes y literatura), muy evocadores cuadros, objetos de aquí y de allá, así como selectos muebles que hablan del buen gusto de Pippa y Manfred, sus propietarios. Sin olvidar la singular arquitectura del cortijo, tradicional pero con elementos de culturas varias y vanguardia, una chimenea de las que calientan de verdad, una piscina entre árboles deliciosa, aunque ahora solo haya sido para mirar, buen acondicionamiento (a destacar la energía solar y los materiales nobles) y mucha comodidad. Para colmo, no falta de nada en sus armarios, estantes y cajones. Capítulo aparte merecen el burro y el caballo de la finca, los muchos sapos que nos cruzamos por el camino, la garduña que nos salió al paso y el idílico camino que lleva a Montánchez pueblo.
