Beautiful clean, comfortably furnished home and well stocked kitchen with a nice view of the Peace River from the Lanai. Such a quiet location at the end of the street. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the screened in Lanai and pool. Had fun eating our meals at the table in the pool watching tv! Only regret we couldn’t stay longer.

****PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING!!!****PLEASE KNOW THAT EVERYTHING IN THIS REVIEW CAN BE VERIFIED BY AIRBNB****I HAD TO OPEN A SUPPORT REQUEST CASE FOR HELP.**** I know that Anne will deny everything in this review and say I made everything up or it was not as bad as I say it was, because that was her response to me. This was a terrible property and unprofessional owner. I would not recommend staying at this location. I would actually advise against staying at this house until there are significant repairs and changes. There is so much that went wrong that I do not even know where to start. We had to request to terminate our stay and go through Airbnb to receive a refund, because Anne, the host, would not work with us to solve the issue. Her reasoning was that the problems were our fault, our claims were untrue, and we requested an unreasonable amount. We did receive our refund thanks to the awesome customer support at Airbnb. If you have an issue with where you are staying do not hesitate to call Airbnb support. They are wonderful to work with and will help you out. Do not be bullied by your host as Anne tried to bully me with insults and blaming the house problems on me. Always take pictures and video for documentation. I had plenty of pictures and videos to send to customer support to back up my claims. There were two positives for this property. First, Punta Gorda is a beautiful and calm place to stay. It is a quiet area with a partial view of the river. I am not sure how long it will stay that way because there is a housing development going up in the back yard. So there is construction going on and it is noisy at times. Second, the house is lovely. It is older and has a slightly musty smell to it at first, but after opening and shutting doors it starts to go away. Febreeze is a must at this home. The house reminds me of an old Key West home, which I like. The first week there was okay once we got rid of the musty smell. Now for the issues. I am not going to embellish this review in any way. I am just going to state the issues that we had to deal with. This truly was a terrible stay. We had booked a month long stay. We tried to stick it out the whole month, but after 20 days we were so fed up that we did not want to spend the last 10 days of our hard earned vacation at this property. Enough was enough. Below I have listed the issues and Anne's response to each issue. ****MAJOR ISSUES**** 1. ANNE, THE HOST- Anne was fine with us until the day we asked to terminate our stay. She then became unprofessional and rude, and sending us insults. She told us, "you will not receive a full refund" (we never requested a full refund), "this is just more of your set up?," "your behavior is nothing short of disgusting," "you will get nothing from me after all of this," "I'm not giving you a refund." If the owner of the Airbnb property you are staying at treats you like this, please do not just stand by and be threatened. Report it, as I did. This is a business and there is a certain standard of professionalism that is expected to be maintained. Anne was unreasonable and in no way took responsibility for the issues in her home. She had the nerve to blame me for not taking care of her pest infestation problem. Anne's response- "You didn't tell me that it was that bad until now. You have been there 20 days. You will not receive a full refund." 2. PEST INFESTATION- June 27th I sent Anne a message about the large amount of ants we had been seeing the past few days. The ants and bugs are out of control and in ALL the rooms. We used two bottles of Raid and 16 traps to no avail. We always made sure to sweep and mop the floors. We did not leave anything out or open on the counters. That did not matter because the ants were in the kitchen cabinets. They were able to get into our food that was in unopened packaging in the boxes. We had to throw away a lot of unopened food. The ants were on the floor, the counters, and in the cabinets. At the beginning we were sleeping upstairs but had to move everything downstairs due the bugs upstairs and that did not really make a difference because of the bugs downstairs. We had to share 2 queen beds between two adults and 3 kids because the upstairs was unsuitable and I did not want anyone sleeping on the blow up mattresses on the floors. There were ants and another type of bug I am not sure what it was. Anne already knew she had a pest problem because she told me what I needed to buy at Walmart to stop the problem. The ant dust that she had used and told us to use warded the ants off for a few days, but that product obviously did not fix the problem. We tried Raid spray and ant bait. That would stop them for a few days, but then it seemed like each time they came back there were more. Anne blamed us and said it was our fault for not using the product she said to use, even though that product did not work either. She even sent a message that offered to reimburse me for buying the Raid and ant traps (which I declined), even said the ant traps would be a good idea. She lives in Pennsylvania, but thinks that she is an expert on ant problems in SW Florida because she sent me a
