Absolutely tranquil, but less than a five minute drive from the bustling village of Sant’Angelo, which has three restaurants, three bars, and a theatre, as well as all local services. Relax and enjoy the views in the garden, or drive half an hour to the beach or a lake in the mountains, or explore the many beautiful hilltop towns in the area. Something for all tastes!

Lovely house set in a really beautiful garden
Unser 1. Urlaub in den „wilden“ Marken ;-) Wir verbrachten 5 Nächte in diesem wunderschönem gepflegten Haus. Es ist alles vorhanden, hervorragend sauber und in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand (auch top Internet). Wir genossen insbesondere die traumhafte Aussicht von den verschiedensten Sitzplätzen sowie den großen offenen Kamin am Abend. Michelle und ihr Mann waren beim Checkin persönlich anwesend - sehr nett und jederzeit sofort erreichbar. Das Haus liegt 1km vom nächsten Ort entfernt, die letzten 500Meter sind über eine recht steile , etwas ausgewaschene Schotterstraße zu bewältigen, schafften wir aber mit unserem VW Touran problemlos. Im Ort befindet sich eine Bäckerei,, 1 Supermarkt, 3 Bars und 2 Restaurants, wobei diese Anfang November nur noch eingeschränkt geöffnet hatten, weswegen wir dann selbst im schönen Haus gekocht haben und die Zeit dort genossen! Ausflüge: Ancona (1 Stunde) Grotten von Frasassi (1,5 Stunden), San Ginesio / Sarnano sowie Fermo / Porto San Giorgio.
Hasta hoy fue la experiencia más linda que hemos tenido en un airbnb, el lugar es increíble, la casa excedió nuestras expectativas por sus comodidades y por el buen gusto. Michelle es una persona súper simpática que se mostró siempre a disposición, esperamos volver pronto!
Can’t say enough good things about our experience. Michele and Hugh met us at the house on time and walked us through everything we needed to know. They provided recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area and were kind enough to describe their experiences living in Le Marche (we are considering purchasing property here) and to offer sage advice on how to proceed should we choose to follow in their footsteps. Thank you Michelle and Hugh! The house itself is outstanding in every way: beautiful location, grounds, stellar views, lovely decor, perfectly equipped, and very comfortable. We would put this at the very top of our list of holiday rentals and hope to come back again as soon as possible.

Sant' Angelo in Pontano is a typical Marchigiano hilltop town, boasting 3 restaurants, 3 bars (1 with home-produced gelato), 2 bakers, 2 butchers, and a small supermarket, as well as an ATM, PO, Farmacia, Tabaccheria, Beauty Parlour, and a GP. Twice a week there are vegetable and fish stalls in the main square, and there is a general market every 2nd Sunday of the month. Recently restored and re-opened is the jewel that is the town's theatre, which hosts regular concerts. In the summer months there are regular social events in the main square.
In the winter, it is only a little over 30 minutes to the ski resort of Bolognola in the Sibillini mountains; and, in the summer, the same time to the beaches at Porto San Giorgio or Civitanova Marche, both of which have an array of fabulous sea-food restaurants. Other attractions are the Lake of Fiastra (lovely for swimming in the warm weather), the nature reserve and museum at the Abbey of Fiastra, and the Roman remains at Urbisaglia and Falerone. Otherwise, explore other charming hilltop towns, such as San Ginesio (the 'Balcony' of the Sibillini), Sarnano, Monte San Martino, and Penna San Giovanni, all of which have superb restaurants, welcoming bars, and artistically rich churches and museums.
You will need a car. There is plenty of parking in Sant' Angelo and in the neighboring villages. It is a brisk 15 minute walk to the center of the village.
