This attractive 18th century Grade II listed Cotswold stone cottage offers many traditional features including an inglenook fireplace and beams. It is situated in the unspoilt, charming village of Ebrington and is an ideal retreat for a family of four. Harrowby End is a beautiful 18th century thatched cottage set within the picturesque Cotswolds village of Ebrington (as featured in Penelope Keith's 'Hidden Villages'). Everything about this Grade II listed stone property oozes comfort and taste. Completely refurbished in 2020, the cottage still retains many of charming historic features including an inglenook fireplace and exposed wooden beams. From the moment you step inside this stunning, semi-detached cottage you are greeted by a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Harrowby End is a true home from home. The ground floor comprises an open-plan sitting and dining area with exposed beams and day-dreaming window seats. The inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove is the focal point of the room and the perfect addition on cool winter evenings when all you want to do is curl up on the comfortable sofas as the night draws in. The compact yet well-equipped kitchen has everything you need and looks out onto the lovely cottage garden, however you might be tempted not to cook at all, with an award winning pub within stumbling distance! Head up the stairs to the first floor to find the two well-proportioned bedrooms, a master with a king-size Hypnos bed with sumptuous linens, and a twin bedroom, ideal for children or adults alike with 3' single Hypnos beds. The spacious shower room is modern and fresh with fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. Outside, the large, enclosed garden is bordered with mature trees and pretty shrubs. High quality rattan garden furniture is provided, creating the ideal space for al fresco dining on the patio or relaxing in the sunshine with a good book. Harrowby End is located in a peaceful village setting within a conservation area and a real bonus is the award-winning pub, The Ebrington Arms, located just a few minutes' walk away. This excellent gastro pub was voted Village Pub of the Year by the Sunday Times 2017, serving great food and its own beers which CAMRA voted best newcomer 2017 (after just five years of making their own beer!). Ebrington is also home to Vegetable Matters, a fabulous store selling local vegetables and a whole range of other quality foods, as well as being a destination for a variety of breakfasts, light lunches, teas and coffees. Staying at Harrowby End gives you access to a wealth of quaint English villages, wonderful gardens, fascinating historic houses and excellent pubs and restaurants all within easy driving distance. There are also many beautiful walks through rolling countryside just waiting to be discovered. Attractions and nearby amenities
The excellent Ebrington Arms is just a minute from the doorstep (recently to have won the Daily Telegraph ‘Pub of the Year Award 2020 for Best Pub Food', whereas a little further afield the gardens of Hidcote and Kiftsgate are a bracing walk over Ebrington Hill.
There are a number of walks direct from the cottage, some of which offer breath-taking views of four counties.
Harrowby End is only a mile or two off The Romantic Road, two miles from Chipping Campden and the wealth of attractions the North Cotswolds has to offer, Broadway, Broadway Tower, Dovers Hill, Bourton On The Water, Stow on the Wold and The Slaughters are all nearby.
A little further afield are Cheltenham, Evesham and Stratford Upon Avon.
Walks
There are wonderful walks direct from your front door, up Ebrington Hill. OS maps are in the cottage for you to plan your trips. The walk to Hidcote and Kiftsgate gardens takes less than an hour and free cup of tea is given to anyone who walks or cycles there. Visit for some walk details. Dovers Hill has wonderful views over the Vale of Evesham and the walk to Broadway Tower ( great cafe) from there and back is about 3 hours. Cycling
Bike hire is available from the Volunteer Inn in Chipping Campden or bring your own, a lockable garage is available (sorry, but at your risk as regards insurance).

Gardens
Hidcote ) and Kiftsgate are world renowned gardens, a 10 minute drive away. There are books detailing local gardens in the cottage, other gems include Snowshill lavender farm, Batsford Arboretum, Sezincote and hidden in Chipping Campden - The Ernest Wilson memorial Garden.
Villages to visit
The Cotswolds are full of classic English Villages. There are books in the cottage. Don't miss Lower Slaughter, Stow on The Wold, Chipping Campden, Bourton on the Water.
Culture and Historical Sights
Stratford Upon Avon - Theatre and Birthplace of Shakespeare, Broadway Tower, Warwick Castle, Sudeley Castle, Blenheim Palace and of course, the colleges and spires of Oxford, are all close by.
Pubs and restaurants
The Ebrington Arms, which has been the winner or runner up in North Cotswold Pub of the Year for many years. It is a great local pub with a wonderful restaurant 20 seconds walk from the cottage .
Chipping Campden has numerous eateries and is great for afternoon tea. Also popular, The Howard Arms ) in Ilmington is just over Ebrington Hill.

Driving
The Romantic Road ) offers two drives which can easily be completed in a day, at a leisurely pace, allowing time to enjoy the towns, villages and views along the route. One of the drives passes through Chipping Campden.
Children
Simple things – there is a circular walk round the village and a playground with swings. There are always horses in the fields. Pop over to Ilmington and count the mice engraved in the church. There is a leisure centre in Chipping Campden for tennis and swimming ).

Steam Railway;The Honeybourne Line at Toddington is 13 miles away a narrow gauge railway to Cheltenham and a great cafe.

Try Stow on the Wold and Broadway for their boutiques and coffee shops. Bicester Village and Cheltenham are for the more dedicated. Locally Lapstone just outside Chipping Campden , Broadway Tower and Daylesford Organic will be a short fix.
“Antique Pine and lovely things” on the Fosseway crossroads on the way to Shipston is full of lovely pine, a huge Emma Bridgewater pottery shop and a coffee shop.
Whichford Pottery (half an hour away) - hand made terracotta pots -Some of the Tower of London poppies were made here.
