The location was exactly what I was looking for, having visited 10 years earlier and stayed at the Red Lion. When I realized this was immediately adjacent to the Green, I was delighted. Loved visiting Riverbank and Wharfe View Tea Room as well. Warm proprietors and excellent fare. Also returned to the Red Lion many times.
We had a great stay thecentrally located cottage was well equipped and comfortable for us. The decor and layout are very effective to make the most of your stay. Thank you
The property was extremely well maintained and was in an excellent location, with great views from all the windows. The kitchen had everything we needed, the rooms were of a good size with comfortable beds, the furniture was of good quality and comfortable, the bathroom had an excellent shower (and it was very helpful to have a downstairs toilet), all rooms were well decorated with interesting colour palettes used, and it was easy to park right outside the property. In short, I could not fault the property and if we return to the area I would not hesitate to rent it again.
The beautiful and tranquil village of Burnsall is situated on the River Wharfe in Wharfedale. The scenery is magnificent and the historic bridge is definitely worth a picture or two.
Burnsall is just two miles away from the village of Grassington, which offers stunning scenery, historic places of interest, walks, old cobbled streets to browse around great shops and places to eat. Check out the locations used for the remake of All Creature Great and Small.
From Burnsall take a short trip to the ruins of Bolton Abbey where you can enjoy a breath-taking day out exploring the ruins, gardens and landscape of Bolton Abbey and Strid Wood, not forgetting the challenge of the 60 stepping stones that cross the River Wharfe.
The small and quaint village of Malham, surrounded by a rare natural limestone landscape is only a stone's throw away, where you can walk the famous Malham Cove and take in the stunning falls at Janet's Foss and surrounding breath-taking scenery.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park has so much to offer for all levels and abilities from walking, cycling or just touring around the picturesque villages.
For those damp days in The Yorkshire Dales, take a trip to York City Centre, visit York Minster which dominates the City or visit the Great Railway Museum which even has free entry.
