This accommodation received a 4-star rating in June 2023. "Temps d'Alenar" is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in a beautiful French farmhouse with a private heated pool and stunning and spacious garden. This recently renovated property is set in a small hamlet just outside the medieval village, 10 min. drive from the charming town of St-Yrieix & all its amenities. Perfect for families or couples wanting to get away from the hustle & bustle. The house (140 m²) has recently been renovated to a high standard : On the ground floor, the spacious open-plan living and dining area offers a large wooden farm table with dining space for 8 people. A wood burner in the lounge heats the house and makes it cozy in the cooler months. The kitchen offers plenty of space for preparing meals and is fully equipped (hob, oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, and kitchen mixer/blender). The private garden is fully fenced and has no views in from neighbouring properties. Local food markets are a wonderful starting point for discovering French culture and filling your basket with fresh produce will be one of the highlights of your trip. The living area has a smart flatscreen TV, wifi, a Bluetooth speaker for connecting your phone and playing music, as well as a selection of DVDs. On the same floor, there is also a bathroom with a shower, sink, toilet, and utility room. The top floor comprises 3 cozy and light bedrooms, all with storage space. There is one large master bedroom with king size bed and ensuite, one guest bedroom with a double bed, and a third bedroom with a single bed and a foldable cot (upon request). We do our best to offer a good night's rest with quality bedding and linen. Each bedroom has a fan for the warmer months of the year, and duvet covers are available for the cooler months.

We had a lovely week stay at Temps D'Alenar with our two dogs. The place is more breathtaking than the pictures. Very peaceful area but within close distance to shops and other beatiful areas nearby to venture out to (we visited Sant Yrieux, Brantome and Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat). The home has everything you could need and we really wish we had booked for longer.

Séjour au top! Nous remercions chaleureusement Rachel et Phil pour leur extrême gentillesse et leurs délicates attentions. La maison est superbe avec beaucoup de cachet et décorée avec goût. Nous sommes comme à la maison... La piscine et son salon "la Cabane" sont très agréables et nous avons pu en profiter en famille. La maison dispose également de plusieurs activités/jeux pour les petits et les grands.
Stunning! The pool and grounds were fantastic and we enjoyed star gazing and sun bathing as well as swimming at different times of the day. The cabana was a lovely place to enjoy an evening drink. The house was spotless and incredibly comfortable. Home from home. We had some fabulous trips to Jumiliac le Grand, Grotte de Villairs and Lascaux to name a few. Lots of local wildlife, beautiful countryside and local towns and villages.
Rachael's place was better than the impression we got frmo the photos. We had a super relaxed family holiday, using the pool several times daily. Lovely kitchen to prepare food, wood burner for the cooler evenings and great space to be together. Lots of games left for use and some nice bike rides nearby. The location is nice and quiet with good stars on a clear night. Which was perfect for us with a car to then drive to local amenities. Rachael was super responsive and proactive in advance and lduring the holiday, including greeting us at the house to help us get settled. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Set in the south of the Haute-Vienne, just a few miles away from the Dordogne and the Corrèze, the Limousin is wonderful to explore with its rich history and beautiful countryside. Often overlooked and bypassed, the Haute Vienne offers you the perfect piece of rural France to enjoy a family holiday full of relaxation, good food, culture and memories.

Gondandeix is a little hamlet made up of approximately 10 houses, 1.5 km from the village of Le Chalard. It's an agricultural area, with a peaceful and private environment. Located in the heart of the Perigorrd-Limousin, 2 km from the Dordogne, Le Chalard is a charming medieval village of 315 inhabitants, and attracts visitor from all over France, with it's 12th c. roman church and munk cemetary, tourism center and gold museum, Terra aventura treasure hunt.
5 minutes drive from the beautiful little town of St-Yrieix, with all it's amenities : supermarkets, shops, hospital, banks, swimming pool (with sauna and hammam), cinéma, concert hall, train station... W
ithin a radius of 20 km you can find swimming lakes and outdoor activites (tree climbing parc, canoeing, archerie, cycle hire, horseriding...) as well as beautiful castles (Jumilhac, Coussac-Bonneval...). Upon request your host may send you leaflets or links to local activites, focusing on your personal interests.
Le Chalard is 48 km (50 minute drive) from the Limoges airport, 35 minutes to the city of Limoges, 60 km from Périgueux, 90 km from Brive and 2h30 drive from Bordeaux.
A car will be essential to fully enjoy the area. Le village is 1.5 km from the gîte, and the nearest town with it's amenities (supermarkets, banks, hospital...) is 8 km (7 minute drive) from the gîte. A train station and bus service can take you from St-Yrieix to Limoges.
