I stayed in the hostel's annex which is located in an old brick building downtown. It was originally home to the Salvation Army. The transformation to a hostel has been well done and I felt quite comfortable there. The location is great! You can easily walk to several downtown restaurants and shops and also Canal Park. The host was very friendly and helpful.

Hostel du Nord was absolutely excellent. It was situated in a nondescript location, but it was a great experience! The staff were super friendly and responsive, and I felt safe the whole time. It was clean and organized well, and the vibe was a really cozy kind of eclectic. I enjoyed my stay a lot, and I definitely plan on going back again, when I visit the area!

I really enjoyed the environment! The cold plunge & sauna was really awesome! Everyone at the hostel was beyond welcoming! 💕

The listing says private room- which to me implied a full private room. The pictures don’t depict it well. But the walls at the top are open to the rest of the space. The price point is not that great for what we received. I wouldn’t have agreed to that price point if I thought that’s what I was getting. But overall it’s a good spot and an easy stay.
