Amazing home!! Felt like we were transported back in time. The grounds were dotted with beautiful trees and enclosed with a high wall so it was completely safe for our kids to play. Out hosts were kind and accommodating We arrived late on Sunday evening so they left ample groceries and a bottle of wine for dinner The kitchen was well equipped for cooking , and had large windows with views of the garden. The bedrooms were large and the beds comfortable. Each evening we watched the sunset from “the tower”, our children loved it. There were two dedicated offices, great for remote working. A short walk to the Seine, for more sightseeing. A short drive to Chateau Vaux Le vicomte, closer and less crowded than Versailles!! 5 minute walk to the center of town. Accessible walking trails, peaceful woods and Outdoor markets to buy groceries and homemade bread. A memorable week and easy to reach from Paris with GPS.

This house is amazing. It’s both spacious and cosy with a fantastic kitchen-dining room for cooking elaborate meals. The double doors of the kitchen and the living room open onto gorgeous gardens with lots of fabulous old trees. We alternated our days between visits to Paris, exploring local sites and just relaxing at home. The house and gardens are so quiet and alluring, some days we didn’t even want to leave. There are two work spaces so my husband and I were able to concentrate while the kids played outside. Paddle boarding on the Seine gave us a real kick. Catherine and Thomas are the most gracious and thoughtful hosts. They showed us around and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and helped us pick out activities tailored to our tastes. This is not just a rental property, but a real home. And a spotless one. We feel privileged to have been able to stay in such a beautiful place. We can't wait to come back.

If you’re looking to stay in an exclusive historic home in the French countryside, this is it. It’s like stepping back a century. This fabulous manor met all of our needs - privacy, quiet and luxurious yet cosy accommodations and an hour from Paris. Our hosts were charming and helpful. A high perimeter stone wall gives complete privacy. Architectural details abound inside and out. A central stairwell rises up four floors to a widow's walk. From this lookout the environs are stunning, with sweeping vistas of the Seine River valley. The location was ideal for us. We rented a car to explore points of interest nearby and enjoyed shopping and lunches in charming local villages as well as in Paris. By far, the Chateau Veau-Le-Vicomte was our best day trip. Its gardens are beautiful even in winter. Our stay was magical and we plan to visit next summer so we can paddleboard and swim in the Seine River. All in all, we loved our stay and got more than we paid for.
