The Peniche Surf Lodge was an outstanding way to visit Peniche. I was there a week. Claire and Duncan run a professional friendly and caring operation that is well managed and homely. Duncan has a deep, almost scientific understanding of Peniche's surf spots and always seemed to get you to the right place at the right time. The lodge is a small family business and you get that personal touch unlike some of the monster operations happening in the area. Clearly the lodge is a more than a business and Duncan and Claire genuinely care about the people they host and the environment they create for their guests. I did not hear one negative comment. If visiting Peniche, this is the place. I will return with my family next time.
Claire and Duncan are the most wonderful hosts- they picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station. We felt very comfortable at the Peniche Surf Lodge. They go out of their way to ensure all guests are happy. The room was great. They drive you to the surf everyday and organise optional dinners with the other guests for you to attend. I would highly recommend Peniche Surf Lodge. Thanks Claire and Duncan!
Claire and Duncan are terrific hosts and the vibe and facilities at Peniche Surf Lodge are ideal for travelling surfers or independent tourists. Their local knowledge of the surf is very helpful and hire equipment is good quality. Thanks Claire and Duncan for making us feel like a part of the Peniche family.
Claire and Duncan are great hosts, I absolutely recommend to stay at their lodge! They are very kind, care a lot about their guests, and try to make their stay just perfect. For example, Claire organized a taxi to pick me up at Peniche bus station and left me a very nice note with explanations on the day I arrived. And they drove me to my surf lessons in the mornings to a beach 4 km from the lodge, because I didn't have a car. The lodge itself is cosy and clean, with a big living room and kitchen, where one can meet new friends (most of them surfers :)). Thank you Claire and Duncan, I had a great time in your lodge and am looking forward to my next holidays in Peniche!

Penichesurflodge is run by mynHusband and I , we love the beach life, travelling and meeting people from all over the world, we love to surf and many other activities ,tennis ,golf,snorkling,cycling ,jogging and long coastal walks my husband has over 30 years surf experience of Peniche and surrounding areas he has lived in many exotic countries growing up he was born in West Indies ,I am a northern English girl who moved to the southwest of England at 17 as I loved the beach life.We both worked in tourism in the UK for the last 20 years, hotels, restaurants and bars ,we came to Peniche for our family holidays for the last 14 years and now all live here because we love it so much.and would love to share our knowledge with our guests. Our son is a sponsored surfer ,trains very hard and enters contests all over Europe.Our daughter surfs and enjoys shopping ,she goes to school and speaks beautiful Portuguese Penichesurflodge is situated in Peniche by a beautiful cove Papoa ,very close to all amenities ,restaurants ,cafe/bars ,shops, 4 large supermarkets, and other surf /bathing beaches ,so not only perfect in the summer for the relaxing getaway but also the winter great weather,surf ,cheaper accommodation ,in December the town is decorated and very festive ,also are close by surrounding towns,Obidos is a beautiful place to visit in December with its winter wonderland,snow ,stalls and an Icerink just 20 km away, Penichesurflodge is 200m (5mins walk) to the 3km long surfing beachbreak (The Bay)which leads to Baleal, ,1km (15min walk) from Supertubos ,home to the Ripcurl Pro with its perfect Barrels. We offer the whole Lodge to rent ,apartments (low season only ) or private rooms or shared ,the lodge has a homely vibe and is very relaxing, where you also can meet new friends from all different countries . Penichesurflodge is minutes from the beach Restaurants ,cafe/bars ,4 large supermarkets ,shops and banks. There is beautiful Papoa Beach across the road ,a private cove with scenic walks and spectacular sunsets.
