We stayed there with an adult kid(20), 3 teens(18,15,12) and a kid(10). 7 of us stayed there comfortably. Lots of space for us. Swimming pool was awesome to cool down for hot days. We loved to hang at the edge of the pool and look down to the jungle. We saw tucans, monkeys, frogs, humming birds, sloths and many other wildlife. We were there the end of April through begging of May. Dry during the day time and rainy in the afternoon or evening. Super peaceful listening the rain in the forest. Eating at the table with great view was super. The beach was only 2 mile away, beautiful waterfall is 10 min walk. The staffs all were nice and they always respond right away. We got lots of information about locals. Manuel Antonio park is only 30 min drive away. Everything was good and we will come back again. Don't forget to pack bug spray and 4X4 vehicle.

This is a great place where privacy reigns supreme! The Portasol staff is very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We especially enjoyed surfing and swimming in the ocean at Playa Dominican (about a 30 minutes drive). There is not direct access to the lower level bedrooms from the upper level, so plan accordingly. Our kids love having their own private space, but it may not work for all families with young kids. The waterfall and swimming holes in Portasol are also a must-do — they are so beautiful and very private.

Very nice house in a secluded tropical location. The house is well-equipped and the staff of the gated community were excellent. The staff communicated with us throughout, helped us find the house, booked a tour of a local attraction and were super friendly. The view from the house can’t be beat! The house has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Planning ahead to cook at the house is best as restaurants and stores are not very convenient (but little places can be found 15 mins away) Note that the directions given with Air BnB listing are slightly incorrect. They guide you to a point up the wrong road on the north side of the river. It is better to enter Portasol Living or the town of Portalón into Maps. 4x4 is definitely required but the staff make sure you find the place. I would not recommend this house for families with young children (bedrooms on separate floors, deep pool) however it is perfect for families with older kids. Overall, highly recommend!
