Thank You for the hospitality It's a new property in a village where there are just a couple of small homestays, though villagers are converting their old traditional houses into tourist-friendly homestays. The access was not as easy, but we were ready for it as wanted to see the village life of mountains rather than a tourist place where the markets and stays are commercialized. We reached there and were welcomed by Pankaj, a young lad from the Village itself. The room was fine with a view of mountains, and an open valley right in front of us. We got to have local food cooked by a lady from the village on the wood fire and tasted out of this world. We did not feel the need to go anywhere for a walk, though the caretaker insisted as it was already so beautiful and surrounded by nature and snow-clad mountains. We had a bonfire which was nice and we got to taste local wine from the village, though we could not buy it, as it was homemade by a villager for himself and not for commercial

We booked this b&b for the amazing views. We travelled by car so we had no problem reaching kanaun village bus stand. There was about 1.5 km of unmetalled road, so were advised to leave our car at a parking near bus stand and hop into a Sumo waiting there. In few minutes we were at the guesthouse. The view all the way up was so good and as expected from our rooms as well. Head staff Pankaj who is a local was very helpful and was there for any needs and information about village and surroundings. Dinner was prepared by his mother at home next to the b&b. Locally grown red beans curry, local potato veg, kadhi from homemade curd, Local Nettle Leaf Chutney and freshly picked chilly from garden. Ghee and lassi offered were from their own cow! Looked simple but tasted out of this world, we couldn't stop eating. It was so heartwarming for me and my partner. This is why we picked an offbeat location which truly paid off as one of our best trips ever.
