Sabi - A heritage Kumaoni stone home, lovingly restored. Sabi is part of the adjoining Wabi Sabi Twins unit in Aikkya Farms. Each of these suites has a bedroom and adjoining study with hand painted floors and sleeps 3 comfortably. We are an unlikely combination of the wisest dog that ever lived, followed around by his little brother Bolt, a right brained banker and a designer. Our shared love for travel and all things nice takes us places and we'd love to trade our stories for yours. This listing is for one of the 2 adjoining suites. It is around 70 steps walk up from the main dining/ lounge where meals are served and 108 steps from the parking. The Sabi suite is part of Aikkya Farms. Aikkya, spread over 7.5 acres, sits amidst a fruit orchard and is the only inhabitant of the entire hillside. The Wabi Sabi Twins have their own sunset deck with ample open seating space which makes it easy to spend all day doing nothing. Just soaking in the sun or enjoying a steaming cup of tea when it’s chilly. Feel free to say hello to the resident cows, the dogs - Julie, Motu and the cat - who goes by multiple names. About the cows : They live near the suites and you will wake up to their calls in the morning. Also we have discovered that they like to be spoken to :D and will call out often and loudly during the day till someone walks up to them and says a word or two! These are farm sounds but could disturb city folks. The estate has a large dining/ lounge with a home kitchen serving simple home cooked meals and snacks. We try to organically grow or locally procure most of the food we eat. The bread is baked in house and coffee is sourced from Coorg and ground fresh here. Breakfast is included. Other meals cost 450/ meal for Indian vegetarian/ non-vegetarian fare. Main meals are typically mini-buffets served in discussion with guests. We also have a small menu for snacks and drinks. Entire days can be spent here, watching the clouds float around in the valley below, followed by the famed sunset in the evening. Lots of interesting walks and hikes to be discovered within the estate itself while the reserved IVRI forest is at walking distance. Leopard sightings are common here. A 15 minute hike also takes you to a majestic view of the Nanda Devi range on clear sky days.

it was different n serene. Terrain is difficult to maneuver especially for the elderly but for youngsters it would be an experience of a lifetime. breakfast is laid as 10.30 am which is slightly late by any standard because we lose a beautiful part of the day before that, but was well made n sumptuous. property per se was unique n mesmerizing. must be tried at least once if you want to enjoy the very essence of hills 😊 Avijeet is a wonderful person, helping n warm, always there to serve the guests.
Thank You Shivani & Avijeet for making this natural space beautifully livable. Its such a pristine (in its original condition) space. We lived there for a week and its the nature which absorbed us, and not we absorbing the nature. Way to understand this is, the space itself is meditative - you just have to sit there silently. The walks / hikes we did will always be our precious memorable. Do go to Mukteshwar by hike (which is safe), its such a nature walk and one will get to understand how people use to walk in these mountains when there were no roads 50 or 100s of years ago. Our stay became more relaxing with heartfully served meals which were healthy and pleasant and made us felt at home. Special Thanks to Neeraj , Shekhar, Ramesh Ji for being available always for help. We visited the place with our Labrador and we were welcomed right at home. The place is a gem , you will get to view the most magical sunsets and poetic landscape , and the best part is you will feel right at home. Thank you Shivani Avijeet Shekar Neeraj for the hospitality
We stayed at Aikkya for 2 days and it is such an amazing place ! The location is very beautiful . The food was very nice. Avijeet and Shivani are very humble and helpful. We really had a great time :)
It was an extremely warm and lovely stay. Shivani and Avijeet hosted us very well with every need being catered to and an extremely friendly vibe. All the meals we had were different and extremely sumptuous. They suggested places to go around and all of them were great. An extremely quaint and beautiful place to be if you are looking for a nice relaxing weekend with some amazing views!

It’s just a big green hill with only trees nearby. Only 2 houses far up in our line of sight. There could be some traffic sounds from the road below which is the price we pay for easy access to amenities.
Aikkya is:
~ 340 km from Delhi by road, the roads are good till here and we have parking.
Nearest Railhead (2.5 hrs away by cab) - Kathgodam with 2 good trains from Delhi Gurgaon. Kathgodam Shatabdi and Ranikhet Express.
Nearest Airport (3.5 hrs away by cab) - Pantnagar
Parking is available at Aikkya with a short walk up to the living area. The nearest grocery store is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk. A larger market is 8 minutes away by car. Walking is the most pleasant and easiest way to get around. Our location also ensures that it’s easy to hitchhike or catch a passing bus to nearby locations such as the grocery store etc.
