This property pays homage to folklore and legends surrounding The Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, and iconic Old West stories that revolve around clashes between the law and the outlaw. (The “hole” is a pass eroded in the Red Wall sandstone escarpment of the Big Horn Mountains that was used secretly by Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch Gang in the late 1800’s.) Raw wood, natural stone, hardwood floors, sturdy, rugged wood & leather furniture, butcher block style kitchen counters, pine cabinets, rough-hewn pine accents, and wood paneled vaulted sunroom ceiling give this home a rustic, authentic Old West ambiance. Old West Memorabilia and Hole-in-the-Wall Gang antiquities adorn the lower level bar area. Enjoy mountain views from every window. There are two master bedrooms with king size beds. Two of the bathrooms have a shower/tub combination, one has a shower, and the other two are half-baths. This spacious home was built for entertaining on a large scale. The hole in the wall was so much more than what we expected. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had a nice instant pot, microwave, four slot toaster and a coffee maker. I did bring my own Keurig. Lots of nice dishes, cups, glasses and silverware. Lots of pots and pans of various sizes as well as bowls and other cooking items. Salt, pepper and spices also. There is a dishwasher and two large refrigerators. The sectional next to the game room was so comfortable and could be easily used as a place to sleep. There was also a bar in that room with a small refrigerator. The game room had a nice Infinity table. We brought an air mattress for an extra bed and there was plenty of room for it in the room with one queen bed. The king bed room had plenty of room for another bed if needed. The hot tub was top quality and could seat eight people. There was a nice barbecue grill however we did not use it. There was wood for the fire pit. There were 11 people in our group.
Beautiful house for the three couples and families to meet and relax paying games, bbqing and relaxing watching the snow fall or moon and stars in the lovely hot tub. Great stay.
great stay! I wish we had one more day to enjoy the bliss of his home and location. We had one slight issue with consistent warm water for showering but that is likely due to the number of us hoping to shower around similar timings, especially after enjoying the hot tub. Somehow the pictures for this listing don’t even do it justice - I don’t know that it’s included in the listing information, but there is also a second fridge and a karaoke machine! it hosted myself and 9 friends perfectly and made for a perfect birthday trip getaway that made me realize I could definitely live happily in cody, Wyoming. Can’t wait to come back.
Stayed with our families for a long weekend and wished we could have stayed longer! This house was a perfect space for all ages (35-75) and it offered everything we needed. Plenty of seating space to sit and visit, a large kitchen filled with everything you could possibly need and a comfortable basement with large screen tv, games and PacMan. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay on our next trip to Cody!
