The caravan of street food will again make a stop in Maribor and spoil you with its delicacies within the scope of the Street Food Market Austria and Street Food Market Slovenia tour.
At the largest Slovenian square, more than 40 providers will offer their world cuisine delicacies from their converted vehicles, two weekends in the year, in June and in August.

Every year, the Borštnik Theatre Festival features the best performances of Slovenian theatres. After it ends, an expert panel presents awards for the best performance, actors, directors and other artistic achievements. Some plays are also performed in foreign languages.

The story of the Lent Festival is the story of evenings that smell like summer and invite you to socialize, to get out, under the starry sky, among colourful lights, sounds, rhythms.
To the Drava river, which reflects the fantastic imagery of dreams, to the stands with local delicacies, to the squares where you meet your acquaintances, to the streets with rivers of visitors from all over the world. To the city that breathes, pulsates, lives!
The Lent Festival is the largest Slovenian open-air festival and one of the largest in Europe.
For more than a quarter of a century, at the beginning of summer, Maribor has been transformed into a gigantic stage and a lively junction of artistic expressions, cultures and languages from around the world. Every year it welcomes about half a million visitors, almost every fourth Slovene has visited it at least once.

The Lent Festival is a festival of festivals. It hosts the world-renowned international CIOFF festival Folkart, the international jazz music festival Jazzlent, the Ana Desetnica street theatre festival, the festival of creativity and curiosity Art Camp and the Slovene cuisine festival Sladolent.

An event series of various genres, yet harmonized, ensures that everyone finds something for themselves. Opera and ballet, theatre and dance performances, jazz concerts, concerts of classical music, music of the world, singer-songwriter concerts, concerts of chansons and ethno music, folklore evenings, street theatre performances, summer cinema, sports activities and events and activities for children.

More than fifty festival venues, stretching from the banks of the river Drava to the city park, are only a few minutes on foot away. And because of the restaurant gardens, which expand onto the squares and streets in the summer evenings, and the many stalls that lure with local delicacies, you can pamper yourself to a perfect open-air dinner or a tasting of local wine or beer creations. The highlight of the culinary experience is offered by the Sladolent Festival, which brings the best Slovenian chefs to the city. Thus, in a single evening, with a single walk between the festival venues, you can taste the best that modern Slovenian cuisine has to offer.

August 2022 - Pohorje Ultra Trail
A running event through natural beauties of Pohorje
The event is a sequel of the successful story Pohorje Trail Marathon.
The society for promoting an active lifestyle from Ruše made four routes that lead through the most beautiful spots and natural sites of Pohorje. The event will also include trail runs for children and also a humanitarian hike to Martnica.
1st of August till 31rd of August - Summer Puppet Pier, international puppet festival
Puppet shows add to the summer events in the city
More than 25 years, the Maribor Puppet Theatre organises an international festival which is an annual summer event in the city. Every August, several thousand people visit an interesting and entertaining programme, and the festival presents the best foreign and domestic puppet shows for children and also shows for adults, workshops, exhibitions, installations and other side events.
15th of Sept. till 24th of Sept. - Festival Maribor
The origin of the Maribor Festival is dated back to 1964, and it voyaged from its Baroque beginnings to postmodern transformations. It developed from an international festival of chamber music Music September and inherited its refined programming, state of the art performance standards and unorthodox approach to organisation. Held each year in the beginning of September it assembles numerous Slovenian and foreign musicians.
29th of Sept. till 2nd of Oct. - The Old Vine Festival
Slovenians take pride in the famous vine
The old vine growing at Maribor's Lent is a testimony of extremely rich wine-growing tradition and success stories of Štajerska wine-growers. The capital of Štajerska celebrates the symbol of vintage wines and persistence, and thus this is a festival of learning, tasting, socialising and joy.
Premium wine festival
Visit the Old Vine Festival in the centre of Slovenian wine-growing tradition, the Old Vine House, theme nights dedicated to wine and culinary delights or festival stalls and enjoy the entertainment programme while tasting local wines.
The ceremonious grape harvest of the oldest vine in the world
The festival ends with the formal grape harvest in front of the Old Vine House. The harvest, which is a true city celebration, is visited by many from far and wide, important guests from the government and public life, many receivers of the Old Vine’s scions, Slovenian wine queens and representatives of wine fraternities and orders.
The tasting of the first grapes is an important role, which is carried out by the Mayor of Maribor. The harvest is transported to the Meranovo estate where also the wine made from the old vine grapes is stored. The wine making process is supervised by the city vinedresser. At the end of the grape harvest the last wooden tub of grapes symbolically meets with the first tub of manure, as we have to return to the Old Vine that which with the grapes we took away. The youngest grape gatherer puts on a grape on a vine shoot so that the vine will drink its own juice.
11th od Nov. - St. Martin’s Day celebration
The St. Martin’s Day celebration in Maribor is the biggest public one-day celebration of St. Martin’s Day in Slovenia. On this occasion, even 20.000 visitors from Slovenia and abroad come to the Slovenian Styrian capital. The tribute to autumn and the celebration in the city square are accompanied by a rich cultural and entertainment offer and several wine and culinary events.
“Celebration of Autumn” Procession
The procession of wine queens, harvesters, folklorists, farm women, rafters and representatives of wine orders and associations walks around the city centre and joins the celebrations, bringing the autumn produce and food as a symbolic tribute to autumn.
Local Food and Wine Tastings
Join the people of Maribor and nearby towns and villages for the ceremonial blessing of the must. Celebrate in the company of famous musicians and musical ensembles. Try the food and the drinks offered on the stalls of local vinegrowers and winemakers, tourist farms and other restaurants.
In honour of St. Martin
The celebration of St. Martin, the saint who transforms must into wine, represents the symbolic end of all the winemakers’ efforts.

The condo is on the 1st floor and very easily accessible by foot, in case you are traveling with public transport, as well as by car. It has its own private parking slot.
The moment you arrive, you are greeted by the hosts Barbara & Igor, you get the digital key of your apartment and are offered a refreshment drink as well as a cup of a fresh made black coffee or tea. Afterwards the beautiful apartment is yours to stay in.
The kitchen and living room area is very spacious, stylish, bright and inviting. The room is equipped with a cozy sofa by day that can be turned into a comforting bed for two at night, offering a restful sleep. To unwind from the day you can relax on the sofa or the bed, turn on the high quality music system (Marantz, NAD, QAcoustics) streaming from Tidal and let the beautiful music rock you gently to sleep.
The kitchen with the seating area for four is equipped with a cooking plate, microwave, oven, fridge and a freezer. You can always make yourself a cup of coffee on the house or boil some hot water to make yourself a tea. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the needed cooking utensils in case the desire to cook yourself a delicious dinner arises.
The bedroom is bright and spacious as well. The wooden flooring makes the bedroom even warmer and cozier. The bed is spacious (140 x 200 cm), comfortable and always covered with freshly washed bed linen. In the bedroom there are two big wardrobes with lovely flower-patterned handles for your clothes and other belongings. If you need to work, there is also a computer connected to a wifi as well as an office table to get the job done.
The inviting earthly toned and fully equipped bathroom sets the tone of the day with its heated flooring inviting you to start or end the day in a warm embrace. A hot shower or a hot tub are always at your disposal.
