We were staying for a family celebration at Hillside Farm and had a brilliant time in this wonderful location. The views from the house are magnificent - you can see the sea and Whitby Abbey 5 miles away! The house itself was great - the bedrooms suited our needs with a mixture of upstairs/downstairs , doubles and twins and everyone had their own en-suite . The furnishings are lovely throughout with enough space to have different activities in different rooms. The hot tub was a big hit as were the Sun loungers overlooking the valley. It’s quite tricky to find as the postcode in satnav takes you beyond the turning but once there - great and plenty of parking. There was no kettle in the kitchen when we first arrived but as soon as a message was sent, a new one arrived with no fuss! Altogether a great place to stay - half of our party drove a mile away for a waterfall walk and others drove into Whitby for the start of the folk festival - something for everyone. Thanks.

A superb property in every respect. We celebrated our Ruby wedding anniversary there with 17 guests ranging from 87 years to 7 months. The baby equipment was brand new. Every room was beautifully decorated with high quality fittings & soft furnishings. Everyone appreciated their comfy bedrooms, clean ensuites & enjoyed the sense of space in the house. The kitchen was well equipped & we never ran out of appropriate glasses, cutlery or crockery. The views from the terrace are breathtaking - we were treated to seeing the Red Arrows display over Whitby & a spectacular firework display marking the end of Whitby regatta. It's maybe not the cheapest place out there, but we felt it was worth the money - it definitely has a wow factor - wonderful for a special occasion.

Hillside Farm is a beautiful retreat. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard with amazing spaces for entertaining large groups both inside and out. Perfect for a reunion or family gathering. Communication with the housekeeper was straightforward and easy. Our only disappointment was the hot tub was not working and had been requested it for our stay. A grill is also advertised, issue is there are no gas bottles and charcoal is the only option. It’s not a charcoal grill. If charcoal is the only option it needs to be a functional charcoal grill. The present set up is dangerous. The house is exceptional and the views are to die for!
