This lakeside cottage offers all the advantages of lake life, while still enjoying the comforts of home. Trout Lake Cottage is a cozy, comfortable 2 bedroom cottage with an open concept living area. The water-facing side of the cottage is almost completely windows, allowing for panoramic views of the lake. The addition of heat pump ensures that you remain cool in the heat of summer, while a new efficient fireplace keeps you cozy on cool or damp nights. The living area opens onto a large deck, the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or read a book. It is complete with ample seating, eating area and BBQ. You may also want to enjoy that morning coffee on the wharf over the water, where the day’s adventures can begin! Whether you enjoy swimming or using the 4 kayaks provided, you can explore the lake at your convenience. If the sun gets to be too hot, there is a shed with a small covered porch where you can enjoy the views, out of the heat. As the day turns to evening, you can take in some amazing star-gazing, unaffected by city light pollution, around the firepit next to the lake. Please note that while some wood may be provided, it is recommended you bring your own. Trout Lake is advantageously located off the number 10 highway and is a short 15 minute drive from Middleton, where you can find numerous pubs and restaurants, a grocery and liquor store. It is a great jumping off location to explore many of Nova Scotia’s sights and experiences – whether you wish to visit one (or several) of the award-winning wineries in the Wolfville area (about an hour drive), visit historic Annapolis Royal (about a 45 minute drive) or hit one of Nova Scotia’s most beautiful beaches (Rissers) outside Bridgewater (about an hour drive), you are perfectly positioned to enjoy it all! On days when the weather may not cooperate for outdoor living, the cottage has plenty of board games and is equipped with a Smart TV (make sure to bring your Netflix/Prime/Disney passwords). The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-size oven, microwave, coffee maker and full size fridge. The cottage has fast wifi (127 Mbps) for those who may need to mix business and pleasure. Video calls and streaming services both work really well. There is also a small secretary desk in the queen bed room. Note that water is supplied to the cottage from the lake (not for drinking) however, there is a filter and Viqua UV light. The cottage has a water cooler and we will supply 2 jugs of water minimum (adjusted to number of guests and length of stay). If more is needed, there is a Shell/Needs located about 10 minutes up the #10 towards Middleton and jugs can be refilled at a very low cost. While we welcome your furry family members, please do not allow them to roam. A tie out line has been placed in the shed in case you forget to bring your own. Please remember to pick up after them. Important information you need to know: Onsite parties, large gatherings or group events are strictly prohibited!
