WARNING!!! BE AWARE!!! Listings are not what they seem! It’s a third party booking system that does not keep close tabs on the accuracy of their listings. I’ve never had to write a bad review on Airbnb and I’m really disappointed to do so. I’ve tried to work with the host to reimburse part of our stay but it’s been discredited. This is a recap of our terrible stay… We had hoped that our stay at the Nanocasa would be everything that was conveyed in the listing, but it simply was not. There was an overwhelming amount of maintenance issues that created several problems on every single day of our stay. While the host was initially very helpful with tips about the area — it became apparent that these big issues were not disclosed as there was no intention of fixing them for our stay. This resulted in daily text messages with the host where we would inform her of an issue and she would mostly apologize and not resolve the issue. We did begin to search for alternative places to stay on day 2 but quickly understood that any accommodation with enough space for our family and in budget would not be available without a reservation made much earlier. We decided to instead uncomfortably endure the issues at hand, each day wondering what would go wrong next. It is obvious that this house should have never been rented out, with so many issues the experience was full of concern when instead we should have been there to relax and enjoy the place on our first vacation in 3 years. Here is a recap of the issues we faced with some photos as well. Lost Power in House On Day 2 we returned to the house in the evening without power. It was 33 degrees that night and with a baby was very difficult overnight. We called and texted the host multiple times and did not receive a reply until the following morning. Our kids were awake with the heat and our following day ended up being very difficult as everyone was exhausted. Not to mention that we had done 100 euro worth of grocery shopping which was then partly spoiled with no working refrigerator. We lost power 4 times in the following days. When asking Giorgia for assistance she suggested we limit our air conditioning use to one floor which is difficult with 2 bedrooms on 2 floors in such extreme heat. Note that the power loss was in our house only and it was not made apparent to us that this was an ongoing issue and we would need to continuously use a circuit breaker outside of the house. Pool We arrived to a pool that was clearly lacking maintenance. The tiles were falling off the pool and after swimming in it for a few hours it became apparent that the cleaning system was not running as the water became cloudy with disintegrated grout from the tiles. Giorgia had called a pool cleaner for day 3. We were unable to use the pool prior to that. Throughout our stay the pool remained full of small pieces of grout from the tiles falling off. Bathroom upstairs not working We tried to flush the toilet and that resulted in a lot of weird loud sounds, no flushing would occur. We weren’t told this beforehand and had to ask before being told to manually remove the top cover of the toilet and push the floater down inside the toilet. Internet issues We arrived without the internet working and had to have Giorgia explain that it needs to be restarted periodically. As we have a business we needed to work and could not do so at the house because it remained unreliable throughout the entirety of the trip, the last 3 days it did not work at all despite several attempts at rebooting the router. Broken glass at both front and back patio doors The day before our arrival Giorgia told us that there was a “little bit” of broken window. When we arrived the front door was shattered and after entering the house we saw that the back door to the patio was also shattered. It was not a subtle thing to over look. We constantly had to be attentive to our baby that he would not lean into it. Security issues — The locks on the patio doors to the house are broken resulting in my husband sleeping in the downstairs bedroom and myself upstairs as we did not feel comfortable having our older son sleep there alone. It was also a concern each time we left the house if our things would be safe. Other points: - Ceiling fan in the small bedroom was dangerously low as it had popped out of the socket - Broken lawn chair (1 of 2 was completely unusable and the host casually suggested that we just don’t use it) - 1 roll of toilet paper for the entire week
