The chalet is a charm with split level construction and massive bedrooms with attached dressing and bathrooms. View from all the rooms of the expansive Miandam Valley is phenomenal. The host, Kaleem, is very responsive and accessible. He even arranged a cook for us (at charge) to take care of our meals and BBQ. Some weak points we observed at time of arrival and during our stay: 1. Caretaker, though a gem of a person, does not speak Urdu or English. It is very difficult to communicate with him. 2. Bathrooms were not clean upon arrival. However upon asking the caretaker, he did clean them promptly. 3. Flush in two bathrooms were faulty, they could not be used fully. The plumber did come to take stock of the situation when we first arrived, but never returned nor fixed these throughout our 3 day/2 night stay. 4. Beware no cell phone service works in the vicinity of the chalet, indeed all of Miandam Valley, except Zong and maybe spotty coverage by Telenor and Ufone. This fact should be mentioned in BOLD LETTERS in the property listing so people may purchase/bring SIMS from companies which offer coverage in the area. We had to beg and borrow to make some urgent phone calls. 5. Likewise there is no internet service available except through a Zong router device with its own dedicated SIM. It wasn't plugged in when we came and had to ask Kaleem how to use it. Next morning, there was no internet, even though the device was plugged in. Walked all the way to Miandam town, 2 km away, and talked to 5-6 cell phone shops before learning minimum data plans start at Rs. 2,200 for 30 days, an overkill for our short stay. Again begged the shopkeeper to dial Kaleem's number who promised to use his own account to recharge the balance. Later, we learned there was already balance on the SIM, the router just had to be restarted! A big hassle indeed. It would be better to include the price of the internet in the property rental and include instructions on the device how to operate/restart it. 6. The cook, Zaman's, cooking was not phenomenal. He missed purchasing the required stuff and consequently delayed our meal times and changed the menu as a result. Also, the quantity served on the table was less than what was cooked, and significant amount of food was left over/wasted.

Beautiful multi-level mansion with amazing views and good value for money. Great for 6-12 people. Good communication from Kaleem before and throughout the stay.

Spacious place. Clean and really good location. We were given option to pay upfront for breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price which was a good decision. They have a place for outdoor bbq and outdoor kitchen.

If you visit Swat, stay here. The village, where Kaleem's house is located, is remote, but easy to get to. It is mid-way between Saidu Sherif and Kalam so you can do day trips north or south. The house is very comfortable and the grounds are beautifully maintained by Islamuddin, the caretaker. Come prepared to cook your own food since nothing is available in the village. We loved the place and recommend it highly.
