This sprawling farmhouse is a great place for hosting large families or special events. Nestled in the Catskill Mountains with beautiful porch views of the sunset and summer hayfields. Walk on our nature trails or read a book on the dock, there are endless possiblilities on our manicured estate. From catching fireflies, to patio parties connected to the outdoor sound system, or simply enjoying a fire while the deer graze. All the simplicity of a country setting with the amenities of home. All of the bedrooms are located on the second and third floors. Bedrooms 1-4 are private with their own doors. "Bedroom 5" is a two room suite with private bath. Bedroom 6 is a master bedroom with a private entrance, coffee bar and private bathroom. "Bedroom 7" is the entire 3rd floor with two sleeping areas connected by a hallway. "The Inn" is a huge space that has 14 individual beds and can sleep 21, plus 4 more on two queen-sized pull-out couches, and 2 more on cots that are available upon request. The house and property were absolutely beautiful. The kids in our group loved playing in the huge yard, feeding the koi, and walking around the pond to look for frogs. We would definitely stay again!
This was the perfect place for our large family gathering. We felt so much at home in this beautiful farmhouse. It has an extremely well-supplied kitchen, super comfy beds, and plenty of bathrooms for the entire gang. Patrick was a great communicator and made everything very easy. We loved our walks in the woods, sitting out by the pond, and making and consuming great meals together. We all said we'd come back any day!!!
We had an excellent stay at this beautiful, historic home. We used the space for a family reunion that included very young children. The decor was lovely but comfortable and baby-safe. The porch swing, the pond, the trails, the hammock and the fish provided endless entertainment and relaxation for all ages. Thank you so much for hosting us!
This was our best Airbnb experience. We had a family reunion with 4 generations. Everything was exceptional. Patrick had everything you could possibly think of at the house. The rooms were small, cozy, and charming. They had incredible Wi-Fi given the age of the farmhouse. Rooms had enough places to charge electronics. The bathrooms are a bit tight, but spotless and nice. There are 2 larger bathrooms for people who need it including a tub with grab bars. There were 14 of us, so we fed the children in the kitchen and the dining table accommodated all the adults. The only thing that wasn’t clear in the description was that the shared 2 room suite is also connected to the largest bedroom. There is a door and back stairs so it can be private. It worked perfectly fine for us. Also, the twin bed room on the third floor doesn’t have a door. Again, not a problem. I’d bring a baby monitor if you put little ones up there. Finally, the air conditioning was awesome. Already rebooked!
We loved this former inn! Charming, historic, peaceful, clean, plenty of space, very well outfitted with everything we needed, and very responsive hosts. We all left saying we’d be back!

The DeerWatch is located in the Great Northern Catskills region between the Village of East Durham and Hamlet of Oak Hill. The farm sits on the former Deans Mill Rd., now County Route 27. There is a popular trout fishing area on the Catskill Creek down the hill from the farm. A paid 24 hr. ambulance squad is within walking distance, and around the corner on Rt 145, there is a Diner/Convenience Store/Gas Station and also a Dollar General Store.
There is parking for 7 vehicles in the main driveway and easily 6 more on the gravel drive in front of the barn.
