This is the perfect spot to stay in Woody Point. Close to the nearby Heritage Theatre, and the little "downtown" area, Sarah's place had everything we needed for our stay. It's a charming old house with lots of vintage furniture and little touches that make it feel like home. From handmade quilts on each bed to the guestbooks detailing decades of history, it was truly a lovely spot and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

The house is actually rather run down, inside and outside. The furnishings must be have been there when the original owners were alive, and were not very comfortable for guests. The bed I slept in was lumpy and squeaked when I moved. There were no bedside tables with reading lights. In fact, all of the lighting is from ceiling lights that are just bare bulbs with clip on plastic covers. The bathrooms were built into the bedrooms and are small but adequate. On the plus side, the kitchen is well equipped, it was clean and the quilts on the beds were pretty. It is a short walk to the harbor at Woody Point and a short drive to the Discovery Center at Gros Morne National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at this historical home. It was exactly as described and within walking distance to restaurants with hiking trails and lots of outdoor activities near. We would highly recommend this to anyone.

Sarah was so accommodating and very responsive. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay there in the future. The house is a 120 years old but so very clean and cozy.

We’re repeat guests at the Blanchard house- my husbands great grandparents owned the home and it was in his family for many years. Loved the fresh dinner rolls and wine left for us- a very nice touch. I also enjoyed the lanterns that were placed around the home. Great laundry facilities. My favourite part of the house is by far the covered front porch. The home is dated but maintains original charm and the beds are a little firm for me- my husband who prefers a firm mattress doesn’t mind but they are quite squeaky when you move at all. We tried to use the oven several times and warning it’s small and runs very hot. We burned most of what we put in it even on low heat. They have new plush towels and facecloths and a large backyard with a little garden. Very short walk to the woody point lighthouse. Thank you Sarah!
