The apartment itself was absolutely lovely and well-situated in a fun neighborhood surrounded by shops and restaurants. We loved the property itself. Unfortunately, we did not receive clear check-in or check-out instructions (either digitally or printed in the apartment) and were only told by the host to "leave the keys in the apartment" when we left. We left them in the inside of the door, trying to be helpful. The host wrote us the next day, upset with what we'd done because the old-fashioned lock wouldn't unlock with the key in it. We couldn't have known this, but even though she admitted her instructions weren't clear she demanded we pay $110 USD for a locksmith. We declined as we had followed her instructions, and Airbnb supported us, but it soured our experience here. Just fair warning for future guests - make sure you ask for a detailed list of instructions and limitations with the property in writing ahead of time so you don't have this experience with the host.

This is SUCH a fabulous location, and this apartment overlooks a quiet courtyard. It’s spacious, clean, and soooo beautiful.

Notre séjour s’est très bien passé ; Katja nous a attendus pour nous remettre les clés en mains propres et nous a donné des indications sur les choses à proximité. Nous avons apprécié le calme de l’appartement et ses équipements, le quartier à la fois paisible et animé, bien desservi par les transports. Merci à Katja pour sa disponibilité.

The stay in Katja’s place was so special! I was visiting my daughter in Berlin and the setup is so great, there’s space for each person to do their own thing. The place just has the perfect coziness it’s not corporate or sterile. The neighborhood is fantastic, lots of restaurants and parks nearby with access to transit. Katja was accessible but didn’t hover. She is the perfect host. I am so grateful we got to spend time in her quiet, serene, cozy space.
