Linda’s place is beautiful and follows a certain kind of aesthetic. The views toward Olavinlinna are breathtaking. There was plenty of space in the apartment and was therefore great for two adult couples visiting the Savonlinna Opera Festival. Nevertheless, there were a few issues, which should be compensated in the overll excessive pricing. This is a dog home, which was not disclosed in the description. Two members of our party had to deal with severe allergic reactions. Secondly, when paying such a premium price for the apartment, I expect the place to be cleaned properly. I do not want to see the owner’s hair in the sink nor have to start with cleaning the kitchen and binning stale bread. Also, the kitchen lacked basic equipment such as a pan for boiling pasta/potatoes/eggs. The furniture looks nice in the pictures, but most of it is plastic and gives quite a cheap feeling in terms of style. Overall, beautiful views, but pricing needs to be checked to match what is really on offer.

The residence is spacious, professionally decorated and very welcoming. The view of the castle is stunning and there is a large deck to enjoy it. Linda was an excellent host - very responsive to our queries and needs. She had filled the fridge with fruit, wine, bread for us and the kitchen was well stocked. Her recommendations for nearby worthy sites to visit were very helpful and spot on. There are 2 bathrooms: one is a small powder room with toilet and sink and the other is more spacious with a shower and sink but no toilet.

I can only recommend this very new, spacious and luxurious apartment in one of the best locations in Savonlinna! It was a pleasure being able to enjoy a cup of coffee whilst looking directly at the lake and the city's castle. I hope to return next year!
