The location of this house is brilliant - right on the beach in the middle of the stretch of hotels/bars/restaurants in jambiani, so you can easily access them all. It is worth being aware that because of the amazing access to the beach/sea, there isn't a lot of privacy at the house, unless you move back to the area near the kitchen. The house has a lot of character, being like a castle. The layout was a little tricky for us - there are two 'towers' and the upstairs and downstairs of each are connected by a vertical spiral staircase (and no doors). Each room has to be locked separately. The kitchen is quite basic (no microwave/electric kettle/oven). The WiFi was not great. Hilda, who looks after the house, is amazing. She made great food, kept everything tidy despite the sand everywhere, and was lovely with and able to entertain our two small kids. Like family!
Really an amazing little castle that offers a private setting, for stays with family and friends. The rooms are very cute and the sound of the ocean at night is amazing to sleep with. The garden is great so is the dining and hang out area that offers sand between your toes. Hilda the cook, was amazing. She organised the puchase of seafood with local fisherman and provided as daily with amazing BBQs and breakfast. We will definitely come back !
Great place very peaceful with access to beautiful beach. Possibility to benefits of cooking specialities from Hilda, very tasty. We really enjoyed this place.
my girlfriend's and I had the best stay at Kwacha house. Jake was very communicative before we got there and was flexible with check in and check out. the house is perfect for a getaway and is surrounded by some lovely places to eat and have drinks. Hilda was there the whole time and made our stay very comfortable. she also cooked us a yummy breakfast every morning. asanteni!
We experienced the most wonderful vacation at Kwacha House. The place is perfectly designed to spend time at the beach with a group of friends.

I'm 60 years young, happily married to (the glorious woman) Gillie Lightfoot and father of 3 crazy boys.... Gabu, Nunu and Oscar. We live on Sugarbush Farm in Lusaka, Zambia when we are not at our house in the South Luangwa National Park,Cornwall, Cape Town or Zanzibar.....so that you can be! We have been lucky enough to buy or bulid holiday homes in some of the places we love best and are delighted to be able to share them with you.
