Probably the best stay we have ever had. The lodge is absolutely as beautiful as the photographs, the views incredible. I could have spent the whole three days there, watching the steam train pass in the valley below and watching the birds in the garden from the veranda - we even had a resident pheasant. The only issue was being torn between sitting out on the veranda or cosying up in front of the log fire. We did manage to drag ourselves out, though, to explore Whitby and Robin Hood's bay, which are both just half an hour away. We were spoiled for choice of places to visit and eat and, as well as lots of suggestions the file of leaflets left for us and detailed in Maria's lovely, friendly, messages, there was also a guest car pass for Dalby Forest - we didn't make it there this time but will definitely be returning. A beautiful lodge, seamless check in and very clear instructions on finding the location, which is directly off the A road so conveniently located with Pickering just a 5 minute drive down the road. We was also pleasantly surprised with some prosecco and chocolates on the table ready for our arrival. Our little boy loved it and the views are gorgeous - nothing bad to say!

We had great stay and the cabin was lovely, just like the pictures with a beautiful view. It was a chilly few days when we went but we were lovely and warm inside the cabin. Lots of things to do in this neck of the woods (pardon the pun) and great being so close to Dalby forest. Maria was an excellent host and we hope to come back some time in future.

Maria,s place was perfect in every way , spotlessly clean & felt very luxurious. Maria was extremely helpful with everything & gave us great advice for trips out around the surrounding area . Would highly recommend for a peaceful break away from it all.
