The home is modern, clean, well-equipped and very comfortable! The extras like sparkling clean hot tub with a lake view, the sauna, firepit, boathouse with gathering space, fireplaces, and pool table made for so many spots for our family to retreat to. There was something that appealed for us all. Beds were comfy, sofas large and cozy, kitchen well organized and had all we needed to make each meal at home. The views are just breathtaking, and can be seen from just about everywhere in the house! Choices for local entertainment and food is a bit limited, but it’s not that far to drive to Asheville, where there’s plenty to do. Honestly, though, you really don’t need to leave this property very much because it’s so great. The guest book was helpful and concise. The internet is spotty, so if you need to work, consider bringing a hotspot or just know you’ll need to be patient. You can’t go wrong staying here- you’ll fall in love with the natural beauty of the locale.

Loved our family week together with 5 grandchildren and 5 adults. Everyone enjoyed the lake and beautiful views! Kids loved the swimming. Helen helped us find a pontoon boat to rent for a couple days and everyone loved the tubing. The home is beautiful and so comfortable. Our family felt so at home. Helen was a wonderful host, so responsive and helpful when we had questions. Hope to return next year!

Lake Barn is AMAZING! By FAR the nicest Airbnb we've ever stayed in. The location on the lake is spectacular. The house was pristine, well-stocked, comfy and beautiful. Not only were the big things of extremely high quality (comfortable beds, nice linens, great furniture, easy AC), but the little things (the things you almost never get in an Airbnb) were also impeccable: excellent cookware, nice sharp knives, nice paper products, clean grill, etc. The hot tub and sauna are wonderful - high quality and well maintained - and access to the lake couldn't be easier. Every single detail of our trip was fantastic. We loved it so much that we decided to extend our stay. Could not recommend this beautiful house more! Our family's favorite spot ended up being the giant loft bed under the eaves, which we took to calling "the nook." We will definitely be back.

This is a remarkably beautiful house in an exquisite setting. The views of the lake alone are worth the trip. You can see the lake from every bedroom in the house and most of the other rooms as well. Spectacularly designed. We were also pleasantly surprised to see many Christmas decorations on the mantel, out front and on table tops; the icing on the cake was a huge live tree decorated with white lights! Three family units came together here for the holidays; the layout and the many amenities contributed to a wonderful stay.

Great home with no detail for entertainment and comfort left out. Best view on Lake James, makes you not want to leave the home while you’re there. Only 45 minute drive from Asheville. Their virtual guestbook has every question you can imagine answered, making it very easy to just show up and relax! With a great property and owner/managers, we are definitely staying again.
