Listen while the coquis lull you to sleep at night and gently awaken to the cacophony of tropical birds in the morning. The downstairs unit at J&R's Banana Cabana offers a comfortable queen sized bed, kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, and a full private bathroom. Come stay, enjoy, and relax! Our home is a two story building, sitting on a rural one acre lot in a lush tropical jungle setting. You will be staying in the bottom half of the house where you will have a full private bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, and kitchenette.

This place was absolutely perfect for what we needed! So cozy and cute! Loved the double sinks and greatly appreciated the coffee options. Perfect for drinking on the porch in a rain storm! We’d definitely stay here again, it was striking distance to everything we wanted to do.

Rhonda’s place is a great stay if you are ever visiting the big island, easy entry and stocked with amenities. The location is amazing with sounds of wildlife during the night. I’ve frequented this airbnb twice and it’s been a wonderful stay both times and I would definitely do it again.
I have only positives for this unit. It’s clean and quiet. It’s reasonably easy to find, although the roadside sign could use an upgrade. We loved the lanai and all the tropical sounds. The tiny kitchen area had everything we needed. The bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. I would book again and recommend it for other travelers.

Please know that this is a rural neighborhood. All the homes in Hawaiian Paradise Park are sitting on one acre lots, so the blocks are long. Many lots have been cleared, but some are very wild and overgrown. Streets may be unpaved, as ours is, and there is no sidewalk. There are no street lights and it can be very dark at night. It is a quiet neighborhood. A great place to relax and listen to the birds. There is plenty of lush green trees and fragrant Island flowers blooming throughout the year. It is a minimum of 10 minutes drive to the nearest market or gas station. Nothing is "walk able," so please plan accordingly.
We offer free covered parking for one car. There is no street parking. The Hele-On bus is free. The bus stop is approximately 1/2 mile walking distance from the property. It is highly recommended that you rent a car, as Uber and Lyft can be unreliable. Most places on the Island are accessible without 4-wheel drive, but if you wish to visit Green Sand Beach, or the top of Mauna Kea, you will need 4-wheel drive.
