Gîte des Rêves is situated in a quiet riverside location at the edge of a small rural commune called 'Cornus'. It is part of a larger village a few minutes away 'Cénevières', that boasts a stunning medieval chateaux. A small communal shop and a delightful brasserie, where you can have a drink in the day or enjoy a tasty meal at night. You can stay home and relax in the Gite's pretty garden, inviting pool with its river views or explore this beautiful region 'Les Causses du Quercy'. Our Gîte has been renovated to a high standard with attractive contemporary lighting throughout. A quality German kitchen that has a kitchen island, with 4 saucepan hob and oven. A Fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and dishwasher. The cupboards are equipped with everything you will need to make some lovely home meals. Downstairs is an open plan space with kitchen, 2 stools for eating at the kitchen island and comfy couch and chair for relaxing. A television with french or English channels. French windows leading out to a large tiled terrace overlooking the pretty garden/Potager and swimming pool, with lovely views of the river and the calming rural scenery of the Causses de Quercy. Terrace is equipped with an outdoor dining table and chairs for Al fresco eating, a planche ( french style barbecue and sun beds and cushions for catching the sun! Upstairs we have a high quality double bed with all linen supplied and comfy chair in a reading area. Separate shower room and separate toilet rooms have been equipped with walk-in Italian shower and beautiful hand-carved stone sinks. A newer addition is a beautiful hand made mosaic surround to the sink in the toilet room. There is a wooden clothes rail and chest of drawers for your holiday clothes as well as enough complimentary towels for your use. ( we do not supply complimentary swimming pool towels if you need them we can supply them for hire) For winter visitors we have a Norwegian wood burning stove and supply wood for your stay. We also have Air source pumps upstairs and downstairs to keep you cool in the summer with air conditioning and warm in the winter. We have a sideboard that contains an assortment of brochures indicating interesting places to visit and sports and activities like camping , boating on the river. A visitors book gives you all the information about our Gîte and how things work ( waste disposal etc) and ideas of good places to eat, and shop locally such as markets and the days they are held.
