Enjoy this cozy, unique, and tranquil getaway. It’s 575 sqft/ 1 1/2 blocks from Route 66. Sits back from the street at the end of a long, double wide, steep, driveway. There’s trees on the property. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other a twin. Enjoy the sunset on the back deck. A 50 inch smart tv is in the living room. Make your coffee or tea and enjoy the can of cinnamon rolls in the refrigerator ready to bake. Stroll down Route 66, with its many antique shops, restaurants, and bars. The driveway is very over size, although it has a hill getting in it. 99% of the people don’t have a problem getting in when you start a little slanted (not head on). The yard is fully fenced and big, great for throwing a ball for the dog. I specially love the pecan tree in the front yard. There’s other shade trees in back and a deck with seating. The living room has a comfortable couch and chair. Also a desk with a chair, incase someone would like to do some work. The bathtub is deep and great for a soak after a long day at the canyon, or anytime.

Amazing stay!
I felt super comfy here, Rosemarie is a sweet host and leaves lots of comforts that make your stay feel more at home. My husband is 6 feet tall and complains a bit about cozy places and regular size furniture, but for a 5 foot person like me and old soul at heart, I felt the size of the place was ideal, and I had a recent leg fracture so even that said, the space felt very accommodating and comfortable for me. And our dog had great fenced yard space. Great value for an entire private home to yourself.
Ce logement fait partie des plus beaux Airbnb que je connaisse! Chambres à couchées petites, mais un magnifique appartement. Très propre et superbement bien aménagé. Tout y est bien pensé pour le confort du visiteur. Le frigo est remplit de boisson et il y a plein de petits détails pour que l’on si sente bien. Et une salle de bain moderne. Là également il y a pleins de petites attentions, où cas où nous aurions oublié quelques chose à la maison. Un hôtel 4 étoiles ne ferait pas mieux! Nous avons été totalement sous le charme!
This was such a great stay. I was pleased that everything matched the listing and more. I selected Rosemarie's place for a stopover after a long 8 days of driving from Alaska to visit a friend in Amarillo before finishing my final push to central Texas, and it was exactly what I needed. The xold drinks waiting and available were just top notch to set this place as my top accommodation among all my other stops on this trip. I would highly recommend a stay here!
It was perfect for our cross country trip! Right off the highway and had a cute coffee shop nearby!

It’s a historic (old) neighborhood with many houses completely remodeled, like my cottage. Two of the houses are currently being worked on. The neighbors are friendly and work throughout the day. The Cottage is quiet, set back of the lot, and in walking distance to Scooters, Aldacos Tacos, and more on historic Route 66. The historic street has antique shops, tattoo shops, used book store, restaurants, and bars some have live entertainment. Tuesday evenings during the summer Sam Houston Park has live bands Tuesday nights from 6 to 9pm, that can be enjoyed for free! It’s about 5 blocks south of the Cottage.
The driveway is steep, double wide, and very long. Getting into the driveway go a little slanted, not head on, so you don’t scrape the bottom of the car.

I was born and grew up in Poppenhausen Landkreis Schweinfurt, Germany. I still have two sisters and other family there. I fallowed my love, who was in the Army stationed in Bad Kissingen, home to Amarillo in 1976. I retired now in January 2022. So in February 2022 I began the new adventure with Airbnb and I really enjoy all the different people and their stories, that stay in the cottage.
