The house is located very close to the UIUC campus, you can get there on foot or by bus. There are three bus lines passing close by (including a direct one to the university sports center ARC). Also easy to reach on foot is Urbana, where you can find grocery stores and bars. Nonetheless, the direct neighbourhood of the house is quiet. All the rooms where as in the description and the common area in the living room is perfect for movie nights. The community within the housemates was great during my stay. While Ben is quickly available if there is an issue, a lot of organisation (e.g. cleaning, sharing supplies, hosting gatherings) was decided internally. Also, the walls are not super thick, so you will still hear louder noises when in your room, but everyone was very considerate about it. We generally spent a lot of time together and went on outings every now and then. So if you like living with others, it's a perfect way to make friends quickly and generally a great experience.

The location is delightful and extremely convenient, especially for those who need to go to UIUC and around of. Ben is highly responsive to any household needs. I would love to return whenever possible!

If I have another chance to visit Urbana, I would like to prioritize the Chandlery. The Chandlery is completely equipped with everything one could possibly need, very comfortable, and well-repaired. What made my stay even more delightful were the wonderful people who shared the house with me and, of course, the outstanding Airbnb host, Ben. They were friendly and sincere people. It was evident that they took pride in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. During my brief stay, I had the pleasure of meeting several visiting researchers and it was delightful to find that all of them possessed deep insights in various fields. What I experienced at the chandlery during my time was not just a cozy and comfortable accommodation, but also a hub of knowledge for intellectual and cultural exchange. Overall, my stay at the Chandlery was a truly remarkable experience. I sincerely hope that many more travelers who visit Urbana will have the privilege of staying at this exceptional place.
