This place was amazing. Anything you could possibly need was already there. Todd was super friendly and has great communication. And the property is such a dream! The view is breathtaking and the water is such a beautiful, clear blue! We were able to sit on the balcony and watch bass swimming below. We also caught several bass during our stay. The hiking trails are clean and easy to navigate. The inside is clean and cozy. And there are small signs of humor everywhere that we really loved seeing. We loved it so much, we already booked our second stay while we were still there!

Thunder Mountain Cabin is a wonderful place to relax, get away from everything, retreat, recharge. Just a few hours drive from Dallas, TX. If you enjoy nature, trails, photography, and the river. You will be right at home. We would like to come back with our son before he goes off to college.

This place offered one of the most therapeutic and peaceful vacations we ever had. We were planning on going in the summer (which we definitely will if spots are available), but after an insanely crazy month, we thought “hey let’s just go. It’s cold but it’s the perfect getaway we need” It was absolutely perfect! Wonderful hiking locations and beautify scenery. Even the outdoor bathhouse was amazing despite the cold weather. (The water can get very hot, which is nice). The town provides a lovely atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and it provides that small town vibe that I definitely want to live in someday. Also, the Italian restaurant nearby probably has the best Italian we ever had. Todd was amazing, responsive, and was very helpful with our stay considering the winter storm that unexpectedly came. We’re excited to come back and kayak during warmer weather!

Wow! This place was amazing! We took a “spur of the moment” trip and choose this place. Although it was short notice, Todd was quick at getting us into the cabin and made sure it was ready to go for us. Super friendly and helpful hosts. The cabin had everything you would need and want! So many games to play inside and outside, kayaks, paddle boat, river tubes, fishing poles, a lot of trails with beautiful scenery to explore. There was a porch swing right by the river which was so peaceful! The water was gorgeous! The boathouse was amazing to soak and relax in while taking in the fresh air and surroundings. I had 4 children with me and they all had the time of their lives! The kitchen had everything you needed with extras like a crockpot, George Foreman grill, toaster, griddle and two bbq pots outside. They had plenty of spices and pots and pans/ utensils. They even had bear spray for the trails! There was WiFi, which was nice. I have nothing bad to say about this place.

Todd was amazing and their place was absolutely amazing! Everything we could have asked for in a relaxing and adventurous environment! We fished the river and hung out by the camp fires in the front yard and down by the river! The cabin had everything we needed and more! We only left ONE time to try out the Arrow coffee trailer, which was so good! We hiked the trails on the property and played on the retro game machine! The soda machine was so cute! Cold root beers right there for us! Thank you so much Todd and family for sharing the cabin and property with us! We will definitely come back in the summer and have fun in the river!
