It’s a wonderful house that is very welcoming and has a charming garden. The interior decor is fantastically colourful, enhanced with loads of bespoke ceramics. The colour scheme is perfect and very relaxing. No hint of magnolia 😊. The kitchen is large and well equipped and all of the furniture and beds in the house are very comfortable. It is a great location that is perfect for exploring the Forest of Dean. Superb. We will be coming back again.

From the outset, when we made our booking Mary Rose was friendly, responsive and helpful. As the booking dates approached Mary reached out again with advice. On arrival we were welcomed by a house semi stocked with groceries so we did not have to go straight back out to get breakfast/ snack items (we ate out 3 of 4 nights in local pubs/restaurants and the other night fetched in pizza (we're N American after all 🇨🇦). During the stay Mary and Phil were very gracious in welcoming us to the studio/workshop (where we wish we could have shopped more!) Truly an enjoyable way to have spent a few rest and recovery weekend after 2 1/2 weeks on the roads! Thank you Mary Rose

Having been a fan of Mary Rose Young pottery for many years to stay in this wonderfully quirky, colourful and comfortable house was very special. The area in the Forest is handy to reach lots of places of interest and great for walks. The local sheep were very inquisitive and I understand why the gate must be kept shut at all times! There was plenty of room for the 7 of us and 2 dogs and everything about the long weekend was superb - thank you so much Mary Rose x

We had a wonderful stay in Mary Rose’s stunningly decorated cottage, with its joyous artworks. The cottage is comfortable, well equipped and has plenty of space downstairs and a huge master bedroom. And the selection of tempting treats left for us was much appreciated! The cottage is close to two roads and there is some traffic noise at times during the day but the nights were quiet. The two pubs in the village have a good choice of food (though the kitchens closed quite early) and friendly staff. And there’s a heritage railway running from Parkend with steam trains at the weekend. A lovely house in a great part of the country!
